This is my 4th and final year at this university pursuing my Bachelor's. The atmosphere is quiet and rural, but still within driving distance to anything you could need. The cafeteria food is hit or miss, but has improved in recent years. Student life hosts all kinds of events and activities, but campus life can feel slow at times. Professors are kind and patient to take time if you need any help after class or during office hours. Definitely a more affordable education that most of Texas! I have enjoyed my time and experiences here at TAMUT.

I'm from Houston, TX. If you want a solid college of business with good professors and staff then A&M - Texarkana is the place to be. I came in as a freshman the Fall of 2015 with mediocre high school grades and this school has turned my life around. I have gained more leadership and management skills then I could have ever expected. My expected graduation is Spring of 2019. (That is a three year graduation) The student success center and tutors are constantly available for FREE! If you are driven- You can excel here!

The University is very different than most. I'm not a fan of high fees for the school, but when you preform a independent research the materials are not there and or you have to purchase items yourself, and do then preform it at home because there is no place to do it. Also the supplies are not provided to the staff, for instance, dry markers, staplers. Where does all those misc. fees go? The financial bill that is visible to the student isn't detailed, but visibility- charged for a parking tag not once but twice. One its shown on the bill that it comes out of aid, but then you have to pay out of pocket for it again, doesn't make since. that's a lot of money per student and staff members. ($30). It has great teaching staff. It is small classroom ration to teacher, but also those teachers are the only one to teach many subjects. So if you can't understand your professor and fail the class or the lack of communication from online teachers.. it creates a bigger debt in the students wallet. Its almost as though the school doesn't want student to pass but to collect their money instead. Just my opinion. Many people I know have transferred to other Universities and even in my classes now there's the same talk, I have even considered to transfer the very first day of class and now im in my second semester and it's on my mind. Plus the plans are not put well together for degrees, and the couns. cant advise you but ask what classes are you wanting to take . I don't recommend this school to anyone, unless you just want to stay in the area and can't afford to travel.

Tamut is not a bad choice. However, make sure to do research and DO NOT believe what Edwin Lara's post says. He is a recruiter of the school, so it is his job to say wonderful things about it.

I have been a student at Texas A&M University - Texarkana since graduating high school in 2012. I would not change it for anything. Even though I had thoughts about transferring schools for more of the college experience like football and track. I just fail to believe I would have the same experience if I was to leave. The small class size is a win plus the fact that professors actually take the time to help you. The Enrollment service department as well as the Business Office is an extreme help when it comes to paying for school and getting registered. The Resident Hall is a WIN with the apartment style living and FREE laundry! I love my college and I am happy I picked this University to attend. I would highly recommend anyone to come and check us out or attend!
