My favorite evening out is dining at the bar of an upscale restaurant. The American Bar hit every note perfectly. I started with a well crafted Old Fashioned, followed by Chicken Liver Mousse. I ordered the beef Prix Fixe with salad, flank steak and Pom frites. A glass of white accompanied the salad, followed by a delicious glass of red with the entree. Dessert is included and the glam was amazing. The manager and staff were attentive and engaging, as was the chef and owner who joined me at the bar towards the end of the night. I found my tribe in Winchester.
We ate at The American Bar for our 28th Anniversary. Food and service was fantastic. Steaks cooked to perfection. Limited menu because what they serve is fabulous. You won’t be disappointed. Portions size is good and food is great.
Oops... I ate all of the delicious, perfectly seasoned food before remembering to take a picture. Please note the butter knife. The steak is so tender that that is all you need. The vibe is laid back. This is not a burger joint. Lana took such great care of us. She made us feel at home and gave great recommendations. I highly recommend the creme brulee! Impeccable! I highly recommend.
Brunch was AWESOME! Coming from DC area, 3 courses with 3 mimosas for $30 is an insane deal! The food was delicious and service was great. Steak bites were 10/10. Loved the build your own mimosa bar too.
Great staff, delicious food, warm ambience. Jenni was a fabulous server- kind, knowledgeable, and personable. Would definitely come back. Highly recommend the steak and the French onion soup. Thanks to the whole team for a lovely dining experience for our first time in Winchester.
A very upscale restaurant and bar in the heart of Old Town Winchester. The styling made me feel like I was in an American speakeasy. The staff was very attentive, welcoming, and helpful. They also have a very good bar program with a couple rare bourbons, and the bartender was very experienced in making balanced drinks. Will update when I return to try the food.
I absolutely love this place. The salad is fantastic. The prix fixe menu makes things easy. The steak is to die for with three choices for sauce or get all three on the side to find out what you like. I would eat here weekly if it wasn't sooooo much food two separate plates of steak and fries per person plus dessert! The steak reheats nicely, but french fries you really can't do that. I would love to see a prix fixe mini with only one serving of steak frites with no dessert so that we could come more often. Oh, and did I mention the staff is amazing?
Giving 2 start instead of 1 because of the music and atmosphere. Winchester needs a place like this BUT had a really bad dinner last night there with friends. Multiple mistakes on the food, world’s smallest Old Fashioned maybe 1 oz…, meat that had absolutely NO flavor, desert was completely misrepresented by server just wrong on question I asked, and water glass left empty for 45 minutes, had to warm the ice to melt for water at that point was being obnoxious because so much was going wrong. Will not be back unless major changes made. Disappointing because music was great and atmosphere was nice.
Wow! What a great find and addition to the Loudon Street walking mall. Definitely rivals the upscale restaurants for ambience. Service was terrific with Miteka one of the best servers ever: knowledgeable, gracious, competent and on it in terms of every aspect of customer service. Also got to speak with the GM Jenny who made herself available to share info about the restaurant and dishes served. Speaking of which, the food was delicious. I had salmon which was moist and topped with a savory caper sauce while my husband enjoyed crispy pomme frites and steak au poivre. The creme brûlée was amazing. Great selection of sophisticated wines and prices were reasonable. A lovely french bistro! We will be back!
This was my second visit and the food was just as amazing! Love the classy atmosphere which is a great excuse to dress up for girls night. My friend and I are already talking about a repeat visit to try the salmon.Food: 5/5
