The Anchor Church Youth Group meets on Sunday mornings at Santa Fe Christian Schools and Thursday nights at the Boys and Girls Club in Solana Beach.

Mission

I believe my purpose as a youth pastor and the purpose of the ministry that I oversee is to equip the saints (particularly young believers), so that they can do the work of service and build up the body of Christ. The desired end result is that mature Christians will be using their Holy Spirit-given spiritual gifts in areas of ministry that are a good fit with their giftedness, by the Holy Spirit’s power and entrusting the results to the Father.

NOTE: I recognize that we are not adequate in ourselves to fulfill this purpose, but our adequacy comes from God alone. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

I've never been uncomfortable at this church. Everyone is caring and loving toward each other, the fellowship is beyond amazing. It's not crowded, they never ask for money, and the worship team gets 5 stars too! Rick, our pastor, really has a knack for teaching. He does a ton of research and always comes up with interesting information about a passage. He's got a great sense of humor, and spends a good amount of time on how to apply a passage to real life. He seems to always hit the mark when it comes to teaching me something I need to know. While he always finds something new to say, he does come back to God's grace, and what God provides is enough. I am blessed to have The Anchor Church as my extended family.

I have since 2010 downloaded and filed Rick's sermons weekly and listened to the wonderful gift of teaching the Lord has given him. I listen to them daily on my walks (great time for praying and listening) as I wander through King's Park (Perth Western Australia) for my 2 hours of looking at the Lord's creation of the bush. I am always uplifted (and often challenged) by the presentation of the Lord's word by Rick. Praise God for His work with us through his servant.

I've been with Pastor Rick for the 30 years that I have been a Christian.  He has a down-to-earth knowledge of the Bible unlike anyone else.  He personally lives his commitment day by day, and communicates God's truth in an easy to understand manner.  Lots of emphasis on the sufficiency of God's grace.  A mature congregation that welcomes new people.  Give us a try!

Rick has been my pastor for more than 30 years. His teaching is always biblical, insightful, and interesting and the fellowship of believers is sincere, loving and committed. An incredible place to worship every Sunday!

If you want straight teaching right from the Bible, very practical application that's enjoyable listening,  I've never come across a better one. Very solid Biblical theology. Beyond that, I've never seen a group so committed and loving to each other. Definitely my favorite church I've ever been to!
