Founded in 1976, we are the only continuously operating full line retail pet shop in the Wisconsin Rapids area. Open under new owners since September 2010, we offer a full retail line of food and supplies for fish, birds, small animals and reptiles, as well as for dogs and cats. We offer pet grooming - Please call for an appointment. We have an ever changing offering of birds, fish, small animals, as well as dogs and cats for sale on consignment. Stop in for a visit. Its a real "ZOO" in here.

I bought my cat from there 2 years ago as a kitten - when I brought him to the vet they said he was perfectly healthy, which is something I had been worried about from things I'd heard about this store in the past. Since venturing into the store that first time, I've been impressed with how social the birds are and how clean the cages have been for the amount of animals that are actually in the store. It can't be easy to keep all of that clean and in order, but every time I've went in it has been nice. 

Sometimes when I've gone in, you can smell the puppies in the back, but what do you expect, guys? They're puppies indoors, not potty-trained yet. They're gonna poop on the floor, and they're not all on a poop-schedule together so it's gonna happen multiple times a day. That's just the crux of having puppies indoors - think about things before you run off and review for the public to see.

The Aquarium pet shop is a great place for all your pet needs and a great place to get a new addition to your family. It's clean and the animals are very well cared for. The owners are very friendly and willing to help you out and answer any questions you may have. It's also a family friendly place!!!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED! We just adopted a kitten from there this past weekend. I just left the vet with her this morning and they had nothing good to say about pets that have come from this store and said this kitten was far too young to be adopted out and removed from its litter mates. The owner said to us "well I guess she's 7 weeks old so it's legal for me to adopt her out", she's not, she's maybe 3 or 4 weeks old. As of yesterday one of the others was adopted out and one was left, and it's taking everything I have not to go and get it just so it's taken care of properly. I am so thankful that we can at least provide proper care to this kitten. The kittens have fleas which i discovered only after getting her home, they also have worms and were so dehydrated and malnourished that the urine is very dark in color. When i called the shop yesterday to bring these issues to light and so that the other 2 kittens could be properly treated the owner told me that they just try to find the forever homes but do not provide more than a minimum of care which apparently is nothing more than feeding and scooping litters. Flea control and deworming is a must in order to keep pets, especially this young, healthy and from spreading these issues to all the other animals and people surrounding them. That is not more than a minimum of care, it's keeping animals alive! If you cannot provide that care then don't take the animals in. Because of the neglect from the store I now have to treat my other pets, my entire home, and ourselves including my toddler, to prevent any flea infestation from occurring, and I am just praying that we acted fast and thoroughly enough to prevent a major issue. This pet store will certainly never see any more business from me or any one else I can warn as well as I will be reporting this outright neglect of "minimum and absolute necessary care" to a humane shelter. This was a birthday present that my teen talked me in to getting her and how awful that she had to worry all weekend whether this sickly kitten was going to even make it through the night.

My name is Renee, pay no mind to previous poor reviews! Especially about the grooming!! I am a groomer myself and the groomer that is there now, is not the same groomer that had poor reviews in the past. He is much better and as a local groomer I respect him and his grooms!! Please give him a try! Love you guys!

This place needs to be shut down! I was just recently at this store and this is not the first that time that I have been there. (I was hoping that maybe they had cleaned the place up a bit and maybe organized the place a little better?) WRONG! The animals all looked very poorly taken of! (excluding some bird's and reptiles) but I am not a animal expert so maybe they were not? Some of the examples that I experienced  included fish tanks that were so cloudy you couldn't even see the fish inside the tanks, the hamsters and gerbils we're all (mostly not all) laying on their backs and looked like they were dead! I proceeded to the back of the store because the smell in there was so bad! I had to see where the smell was coming from and seen the filthy cages that were every where. As I looked in the first set of cages that housed these 2 poor puppies they looked to be in a cage that should have been for one small animal not two? These puppies were so distraught they were trying to eat the paper that was taped on the door that indicated what kind of dog they were and how much. As I looked into their next cage which happens to be the bigger one in the back. Those puppies were so hungry they were eating each others own feces! They also had these poor rabbits that looked so lathargic that I had to take a closer look to make sure they were even still breathing! Now I am a pet owner and am not one to make a big deal out of how dirty an animal can get but this place is the most dirty, disgusting, filthy unorganized pet shop I have ever been through. It should be on an episode of hoarders because all the animals are everywhere! I can't believe that someone has not shut this place down!
