I liked this place before. Now that they have their specials, I like so it so much more. It's much better than the bars down the block. They have 12 tap handles and great beer choices. Great place to go to, highly recommend it.

This is the third time I've seen The Avondale reopen under new management, and let me tell you the third time is the charm! This is the neighborhood bar / restaurant I've been waiting for. Food has been fantastic and the cocktails are just as good. The staff and management are friendly and accommodating. This is going to be my top hangout until word gets out and it's so crowded here I can't get a table anymore.

The atmosphere and the service isn't bad at all. If you want to come and drink in a relaxed and non judgmental space, this is the bar for you. My low stars come from the price and quality of the food. My friend ordered a veggie burger that literally came with nothing on it, not even cheese or any sauce, and it was 10 dollars, with a three dollar up charge for fries. It was a dry patty with some lettuce and onion. I think it's ridiculous to be up charged for fries when you order a sandwich. I've been to places with better quality food that don't charge that much. My salad was basically some lettuce, one slice of avocado, and some packaged shredded cheese with a 5 dollar up charge for chicken. I was charged 16 dollars for something that felt like a salad I could get at Jewel.  I am tired of bars taking advantage of their patrons by giving sub standard food for a ridiculous price.

Awesome birthday party!  Family friendly Avondale Tap hosted our daughters birthday party.  Everyone had a great time...great food...and great drinks.  Beautiful space in back of restaurant makes for some great private fun.

Current mgmt is really doing a great job. 

The place is almost always empty in the last four or five months or whatever since it's reopened, which belies what a really great job they're doing on the gastropub thing. No one's ever there, but they're really nailing it, you know?

Actually, truth be told, I've got deep ambiguity/low-key existential terror about the current iteration of the place: I love what they're doing in the neighborhood and I want it to succeed (I mean, I'm here writing this five-star post, right?) and, at the same time, I really cherish how dead it is most times I go in. 

You always want it both ways, I guess. 

Anyway, definitely go here if you're reading this: you won't be disappointed.
