Story

Will open again for our 100th year on May 26, 2017. Our Soup and Salad Buffet is served daily for lunch or dinner from Memorial Day weekend through mid October. Although we do not offer traditional entrees, we are loved for our fresh salad buffet, homemade soups, breads, and pies. Not only locals, but travelers especially delight in the refreshing change and value that our Baldpate Soup & Salad Buffet offers.

This is an amazing and historic place with fantastic views and great, unique meals. My experience is with dining there. The food is all you can eat soup, salad, and breads, with everything made in house. I'm a meat and potatoes person but always find myself more than satisfied here. Such a beautiful view during your meal...request the porch (it is indoors). And don't miss the corn bread.

This is a beautiful historic place to visit...however I cannot recommend eating at their salad bar/soup bar. We paid $16 per person for the most basic item salad bar, soup, bread and no desserts. I was very underwhelmed with the breads and soups not much flavor. There needs to be a MUCH bigger salad bar with more variety of items offered or the price needs to be greatly reduced. If I could do it over we would see the place and NOT eat there...

Simple salad bar with some bread choices and cheese cubes, along with two soups. Made for a very satisfying lunch after a hike. Followed up with some delicious apple pie.

Great place. Lois Smith is a marvelous innkeeper. The Baldpate has a great feel, enormous warmth, and super food. I've been coming back since 2007
