Cute spot for after work drinks with the coworkers. Self seating but table service available. Also quite pricey and very difficult to find a seat some evenings as early as 4:30.
Simple and to the point! Great barkeep, with knowledge of customer service and very friendly. A place to have a drink and a talk.
Came last Friday night for our first trip to the city and found it to be a wonderful friendly, clean, bar with knowledgable and great staff. I asked for a suggestion of a beer I might like and the barkeep hit the nail on the head! Each member of the staff had a friendly welcoming smile and made us feel very comfortable! I will definitely return.
It's just nice to be outside in the city - even if it doesn't get much light under Grand Central. Good beer selection and fun after work crowd. The bar food is decent too. Waitstaff is pleasant, but sometimes they take forever - but it's likely because of when it's crowded.
I love this place - it has a real buzz wedged, as it is below an overpass. Good selection of beer and some good food at for Manhattan good prices. Really friendly service too. Try the grilled cheese appetizer if you want a LARGE and tasty snack. Even better, this place welcomes family's.
The place is VERY loud and generally extremely busy during the summer. I'm guessing the proximity to Grand Central Station is the main allure. Their beer prices are WAY too high compared to other bars/restaurants in the area. They used to be fair, but a couple of years back they made a substantial increase in one year's time that left a sour taste in my mouth. I left a review at that time complaining about that, and nothing changed, so I guess other people plopping down their corporate cards is enough to keep this place in business. But for me, I'll make another choice.
The only good thing I can say about this place is that it's one of the only outdoor spaces in the area to grab a beer. We head here quite frequently for happy hour when the weathers nice and so does everyone else in midtown, which means it's always mobbed. That being said the name suggests they have good beer, which they certainly do not. The beers are also uber expensive. The food is close to inedible so eat elsewhere.
Hmm. Perfectly decent beer, nice enough spot. But if tables are waitress service only, try telling people that before they order at the bar; and when you've missed the boat on that, take it on the chin, and with a smile, rather than grudgingly allowing a scant hour. We might have stayed and placed waited orders!
How can you hate a place with outdoor seating to grab a brew before the train?! People expect the world sometimes, but what’s not to like?! Just enjoy a few beers, tip well and get on with your 6:28 metro north :
My favorite "awful bar" - it is WAY TOO LOUD and takes a really long time to get a beer, but the beers are ENORMOUS 20 ounces?? and they have delicious free tortilla chips, so it's worth it once in a while.
