I have lived here for 3 years now and love it. The new management is very friendly and helpful and while it has it's maintenance issues they do try to fix them promptly. I love the location and for the price you can't beat it. I wouldn't wanna live anywhere else in this city.

PROS: the location is great, the apartments are spacious, updated kitchen, nice pool,(but you do need a key to get in )utilities are included.

CONS: only 6-7 washer and dryers are available for a 6 six story building which you have to pay for. The worst thing about this place is that they only have 1 maintenance guy for two buildings. He's a good maintenance guy very easy to talk to, but poor guy can't do all these work orders. The toilet never flushes, the sink, toilet, and dishwasher leaks and floods. it's always hot even if  you set the AC to 70 or below. The work orders aren't answered because they only have one person. 

Overall: This place is ok. We don't see many bugs maybe because we live upstairs I do see a lot of roaches in the parking lot and near the entrance of the apartment. This place could be great if they hire another maintenance person that can do the work orders as well. Also if they added more washers and dryers or something or allow connections, and add ceiling fans.

Lived here for 6 months while at school on fort Jackson. Loved this community. It is developed and diverse(black, white, richer,poorer, families and singles, young and old) and everyone got along pretty well. They have a local farmer who comes by every week and sells produce. they have fantastic common areas with a gym, meeting space and pool. the grounds are beautiful with 50 year old pines, magnolias and shrubs. On top of it all, this place is super affordable compared to a lot of newer developments with similar amenities. The biltmore is a rare gem in a world of McMansion wannabes and gentrification\segregation. There are bugs, I think I kill a cockroach at the rate of 2 a month, but it is under control  and you can tell there is a plan to get it under control, but it's a 50 year old building so there are a lot of nooks and crannies.

I have lived in the Biltmore for almost three years now. I've seen a total of three bugs in my apartment since moving in. This is a pet friendly building and they only have one pet waste station within the fenced in dog park. It would be nice to see a few more pet waste stations around the property to encourage all tenants to pick up after their dogs. The maintenance staff has always been nice, helpful, and responded to any complaints or problems almost immediately. The front office has been a bit of a revolving door and the rude ladies mentioned in previous posts are now gone. The ladies in the office are genuinely nice and helpful. My only complaints are that the units are outdated and there are 8 washers but only 6 dryers which back up laundry on busy days.

I should have read the reviews before signing a lease and moving in. I emailed the office staff the night I moved in because there were bugs everywhere in my apartment. I put in a maintenance request because I would watch bugs come in and out of a hole in the bathroom. It's been almost 6 months and the hole is still there. My apartment has been bombed by pest control and the bugs show up the same day like nothing happened. The response I received was that the previous tenant did not complain about any bugs and neither did any of their residents. The bugs come out of the baseboards, light switch in the bathroom and right under the door. I've sent multiple emails to the office staff and the best they can do is have pest control spray. The nights pest control spray are the worse because I end up coming home and killing more bugs than usual. I have hated coming to my "home" everyday for the last 6 months. I've had my brand new personal possesions infested with bugs and thrown in the garbage because it is inevitable when my apartment is infested with them. I hope The Biltmore goes out of business.
