Every bibliophile, nerd, or caffeine dependent’s dream place. The Master piece drinks are fun and true to theme. Definitely can’t leave without a book…or two . The barista John was also very kind, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about this place. Love this place!
I didn't think I'd find myself back in the part of Davenport for anything. I used to enjoy shopping at Greatest Grains before they closed in 2019 specifically for bulk foods and haven't stopped by since. This cafe was recommended to me by a good friend, however, so I resolved to come back and pay the place a visit. Eclectic would be the singular word to use to describe the space. There are shelves of books lining most of the walls throughout, with no real rhyme or reason to their organization. The prep area is prominently right by the entrance, lined on the outside by shelves of books as well. The space also features an upright piano right by the entrance, many board games along a wall further into the shop, and a stage-ish area near the back of the space. A faded wood floor either by design or actual age covers the entire space. The ceiling throughout is covered by a stucco/painted surface throughout, with a mix of recessed and accent lighting fixtures. There are additional lantern/centerpiece fixtures suspended in different places, all of which come together to give the space an added feeling of warmth. Definitely perfect for relaxing with a nice book for an hour or two or even possibly for a few hours of remote work. I opted for a green tea and the last remaining chocolate scone at the counter. The proprietor talked about the lack of baked goods largely resulting from a show the night prior. After sitting down down to enjoy my tea, a group came in and occupied one of the larger tables, seeming like a mom's group of sorts. I then relocated away from the comfy chair I occupied as another group occupied the other chair and couch in the general area, a large family of some sort. There's definitely some diversity in the patrons as well as the space itself, it seems. I'd say the variety of the space is my favorite part of the experience here. There aren't many places that are inexpensive where people come to just hang out and chill. This place has those vibes - I wish I lived closer, as I'd definitely visit more frequently. I hope Brewed Book is around for many years, as it is clearly a special place. Vegetarian options: There is coffee, tea, and a variety of baked goods available that should satisfy the vegetarian lifestyle. Kid-friendliness: There were kids in the space that seemed to be enjoying themselves during my visit. The board games would likely appeal to them, as well as adults. Parking: There's some street parking available. There are also other free parking lots close by, as well.
We absolutely loved The Brewed Book! We had the nuka-cola Italian soda energy drink and the Snickers hot coffee and they were both fantastic! As soon as you come in you just want to get a cup of coffee, grab a book, and spend hours relaxing in the beautiful library! This is now a must stop every time we are in Iowa!!
Amazing place! Be sure to ask about the custom literary themed drinks- we were visiting from out of town and the service was so great that we went back the next day to try another drink- I would totally be a regular at this place if I lived in Davenport! We spent hours combing thru the shelves, and I loved the self of shared games.Dine in: YesTakeout: Yes
Such reasonable prices for a coffee shop. The pastries were delicious. Such a cute place with books everywhere. And live music this morning!
A concept coffee shop executed perfectly! Endless book shelves, comfy furniture, plenty of outlets, and fun drink menu. If you aren’t a coffee drinker they have fun soda flavors and teas so everyone is included. Easy walk from campus & plenty of lot parking if you drive there.
The most magical idea! Rows and rows of books, friendly knowledgeable staff, and delicious coffee and teas. Definitely recommend the chai tea latte!
Likes: Located not in a mega-mall or 53rd st, but in a neighborhood. locally owned by a family interested in the biz and not so much in maxing profit good prices on an assortment of coffee, tea, fruity things good atmosphere. Some come to chat, some to play a game, some to read or browse books, or to stare out of the front winder and ponder, once again, the unreachable meaning of life. attention local Artists: they seem interested in hosting cultural activities Debatable: Another reviewer Trevor? claimed that the "guy behind the counter" the barista? was very attractive. Must have missed that day, week, or month. Then again, that reviewer gave a one-star rating, so might have a reed-thin connection to reality, perhaps a in a cult? I have no financial interest, just prefer local biz run by decent people
I come here a lot with my friends and my boyfriend, and all of us love it. It's a very nice environment, the drinks and sweets are all delicious, the people who work here are friendly, and it's affordable on a budget. You can get a tea for just $1!Food: 5/5
I would like to have more places like this one in every state of USA. The Thai tea was so good and I enjoy to choose a book and read it while I’m had being there. Have a big selection of books, coffee and desserts are really good!
