Story

The Cabin was established in 1853 on a historical part of Western Reserve land. Built as a hunting lodge in 1903, the unique fireplaces have remained standing. The second liquor license in Lake County was issued to the Cabin when it opened its doors as a restaurant in 1933. Our guests have found warmth, fine food, fine wines and a unique atmosphere and we plan to preserve these qualities.

I just moved around the corner and have heard many good things about the Cabin.  I decided to take my fiance here for her birthday dinner, and I must say, we were thrilled.  The service was great, our server Pam was so friendly!  She instantly developed a rapport with us and made us feel like regulars.  The food was seriously on point.  The mussels were so tasty and well cooked.  Tender and flavorful, and only $5 on Mondays!  I got the brisket sandwich and my fiance got the eggplant.  Needless to say, the brisket was phenomenal.  Smoked in house, local pork; it was incredible.  I consider myself to be a pretty accomplished home cook, and this blew me away.  The eggplant was great too!  I don't even like eggplant, and the few bites I was able to sneak when she wasn't looking were excellent.

All in all understand one thing:  believe the hype.  This place is great.  The price range is awesome even for people who are eating on a budget.  I will be back soon.

The food on this day, which was thanksgiving was very good but luke warm at best. I felt bad for the server and even worse for my family. The server had the whole bar area to herself and service suffered because of this. It took and hour for our food to arrive. It took forever for every part of the meal including waiting for our check. I don't know if they had just gotten a new system but everyone that worked there seemed to be looking at the screen forever including the hostest trying to figure it out.
I know it was the holiday and I feel bad that they have to work but for the money we paid $23 for a turkey dinner it was very disappointing. I might go back another time, but not on a Holiday. We spent a lot of money and they just seemed clueless or just didn't care

Wow !!  Want a ffabulous restaurant.. Come you THE CABIN.  My husband and I just had the best Thanksgiving dinner.  Pam was OUTSTANDING as our server. Friendly, attentive and so courteous. We drove over an hour .. we'll defiantly be back !!!

I'm normally all about supporting locally owned businesses but, in this case,  I would have preferred to patronize the Texas Roadhouse. I work in the service industry so I respect being a server and almost always tip at least 20%. Our server was not very personable at all and not very attentive. 
We ordered mussels for our appetizer. Most of the shells were broken, the mussels were fishy and about 1/4 to 1/3 did not open. We left them in the bowl and our server didn't seem to care about the unopened mussels or pieces of  shells when taking the plate away.
My husband ordered the prime rib. The au jus was pure salt. He was unable to use it. 
I ordered the cowboy steak. My steak was topped with ice cold grilled onions. After a few bites of the steak, it too was cold, I decided to just take it home. The baked potato was old. The skin was hard. I couldn't get our servers' attention, so I had to get up and actually get her to get us a box and the check.
She boxed my food but waited for my husband to ask if he wanted desert before bringing the check.
It was our first time and last time there.

Amazing all the way around!  The Cabin has a very nice,  quiet ambiance.   We were seated quickly,  service was top notch, and the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions.
