Went to the ER with a baby that had the flu about a week ago, told them that he was running a fever and was contagious. They had us take a seat, we waited for over 2 hours to get his vitals checked.. I had to initiate the conversation with the nurse at the front desk and tell him that he still had not had his vitals checked.. I was appalled at the lack of his sense of urgency since he could clearly see that my baby was sick and I was upset. We then proceeded to wait another 30 minutes until a lady called our name. She checked his vitals and asked questions. After she was finished, I asked about how long did she think it was going to be, was told that she wasn’t sure and she would check. Never heard from her again. Another 30 minutes passed and I was obviously getting pissed off, asked the nurse at the registration desk how long, he told me another 6 to 7 hours! RIDICULOUS! I had seen other children with no fever, (I heard the nurse ask and was told by the other nurse who took the vitals, which were taken as soon as they walked in the door!) be taken back within minutes of walking in! Despicable! I gathered up our things and took him to St Anthony’s Healthplex North. I can’t begin to say how thankful I am to those Doctors, Nurses and Respiratory Therapists! They were amazing! I’d recommend anyone going there! We got in in mere minutes and it was confirmed that he had flu type A with a fever of 102.4. He’s 6 months old. We will not be going back to Children’s.

Like some others on here,  if a negative star review was possible,  I'd leave one.   My son was there for a gunshot wound to his foot.   We waited at least an  hour to be acknowledged aside from filling out paperwork...then a nurse or doc came out,  brought us into one of the rooms in the waiting area, removed the bandage that was put on by the medics, set the gauze on the FLOOR, then put that same gauze and wrap back on his foot.  The ortho docs didn't allow us to be in the room with our son when they did their procedure but our son said one of them dropped the scalpel on the floor, picked it back up and continued to use it to cut into my son's foot.  The room had NO supplies, the trash can had no bag in it, and the room and facility were disgusting.  I will NEVER go there again.  That place was horrible.  We will be filing complaints with our insurance, the hospital and whoever else we need to.  As filthy as that place was, someone might take their baby in for something not super serious and they'll leave having been exposed to all kinds of infections.

They may be good at caring for your child, but they are horrible at communicating with one another. I get told different things with every nurse or doctor we get. No one seems to give direct answers, only run around your question. As a mother of a baby in the NICU, I need answers and I don’t receive them. Will not be coming back once released.

I have been in the Children's ER since 6 pm with a child who has a 102.59 temperature and at this point have waited 3 hours and 40 minutes. We have seen people go back with no fever (heard triage say they had no fever) and a girl with a sprained ankle. Everyone who was here when we got here have been taken back yet I have a pretty much incoherent 4 year old who is clearly pretty ill. Thoroughly disappointed in the lack of triage quality.

My daughter worked with the urology team and everyone was excellent. This was starting at birth and she is now 19 years old. I now have a neice in the cardiac PICU after having her 3rd open heart surgery.  Dr. Mir and surgeon Dr. Burkheart and his team have been extremely knowledgeable. We no longer need to travel out of state to be with her. It's exciting she is getting amazing care with this superior heart team.
