Story

The Common Market Co-op is a community-owned natural foods grocery store serving Frederick and the surrounding area. The Co-op has a café with a juice and smoothie bar, Fair Trade organic coffee bar and a great selection of sandwiches. The Common Market also offers fresh cut meat and ocean friendly seafood and carries a wide variety of products in our wellness department to support a healthy lifestyle. The Co-op works with local farmers and producers to provide consumers with the highest quality, freshest food available and to keep local farms and businesses in our community.

Oh I love this store. If you are eating organics this is a wonderful spot to get almost anything you are looking for. Very helpful staff. Fresh veggies, fresh fruits, fresh meats, selection of fish, breads. Some prepared foods but those are not all organic. Nice place to sit down for a meal. Lots of supplements, oils, protiens, personal care, household cleaning products. It is a co-op. Consider membership. Do not need to be a member to shop here. Just may not be able to get best price on specials that day. Enjoy !!!

Great choices for my vegan family of 4. Some things are a bit too pricy and others are surprisingly not for organic products. Most of the people are nice, but I had a weird interaction with one of the juice bar guys. 

There wasn't a line and he seemed to rush me to order my smoothie. He had taken my order before and was very nice, but this time he was short and dismissive and didn't say "hello" when I did or "you're welcome" when I thanked him. He just walked away, it was very weird and rude!

Finally, as I was standing just a few feet away from the station waiting for my drink, I found it odd that he shouted my name so loudly that I jumped. I looked up at him and he quickly looked away. I felt like I was being trolled for some reason. I have never been rude to them and I always approach with a smile. 

That whole thing made me feel very uncomfortable and I will never order from him again. I actually hardly go to the juice bar any more because of that and I love their smoothies. I usually love the co-op, my family and I go in there a few times a week at times as members. Any way, avoid Andrew (I think that's his name), he is a moody weirdo.

I love their dairy-free options and the vegan pot pie is on point! 

The staff is super friendly as well; from the smiles as you enter the door to the stockers who make sure you are finding everything okay. The other day I couldn't decide what smoothie to get, and the guy at the cafe was super helpful. I think his name was Andrew? 

I highly recommend!!

I could spend hours here, and usually do. Vegan? They have it. Gluten free? They have it. Organic? They have it. Holistic? They have it. Fresh meat and seafood; great selection of vegan cheese, milk, yogurts etc. Items  you didn't even think you needed 😶. Nice cafe attached to get salad, sandwich or a Superfood smoothie. Employees are always helpful and friendly. Looking for Ezekiel bread? They have it.

Such wonderful staff! I was looking to make jerky, and the meats department sliced an entire roast for me. Excellent, friendly service in a store I’m proud to have in Frederick. Thank you!
