Story

Relaxed and casual dining for the most discerning palate

For more than 30 years, this Greek revival–style building has housed one of Sturbridge’s favorite restaurants, known to locals as “The Duck.” Table 3 Restaurant Group purchased the restaurant in 2010 and spent much of the first year and a half of ownership listening to what customers really like about the restaurant, and steadily rebuilding its reputation as a great place to dine in central Massachusetts.

In early 2012, Table 3 completed an interior revitalization of the building, renewing this iconic structure so that customers could relax in an atmosphere that pays tribute to the original, yet looks forward to the next 30 years. In tribute to the building’s history, the structure that houses The Duck and its sister restaurant, Avellino, has been named “The Whistling Swan,” after the first restaurant to occupy the building.

As the renewal continues, Table 3 is committed to keeping the many traditions of the Duck intact—and also adding a few of our own. We intend to keep that promise by offering relaxed and casual dining and entertainment for locals, tourists, and the occasional visiting celebrity.

Whether you are looking to indulge in one of our choice-cut steaks, enjoy a fantastic seafood special, bite into a mouth-watering stuffed cheeseburger, or delight in one of our signature cocktails at our now-famous sunken bar, the Duck has something for everyone. Executive Chef Enrico Giovanello and his team are on hand to ensure that your visit to the Duck will be a memorable one.
