I've been to the Fish Shop on multiple occasions just to see if they had anything that interest me. Every time it's the same. No greeting at all and barley any conversation, when inquiring about his livestock. It's as if the guy doesn't want to be bothered. He's very unprofessional. I won't bother going here anymore.

At first I was only going to this place to get a frag or two and some water for a routine water change. For every time I had when there, the options of fish were limited and a bit over priced compared to other local fish stores around the Las Vegas/Henderson area. The corals are a bit overprice as well. They did have a good selection of freshwater fish. I ended up taking some what sounded like sound advice from the owner of the fish store about maintaining my saltwater aquarium because of all people you would think a store owner would have better knowledge of things. This advice ended up killing my entire livestock. I had visited other local fish store to ask about the advice that I had received. They all said the advice and instructions I was told was incorrect and I should be doing the opposite. Never again will I step into this shop.

I should have read the reviews before going here, but I was looking for specific fish (and non specific) and was trying to check pretty much every fish store in the city. When my husband and I tried "The Fish Shop," it became almost immediately apparent that we weren't going to find anything we wanted there. The small shop was filled with stacks of empty tanks, along with tanks filled with water and no fish. The fish that were present were very sparsely stocked, with close to nothing from which to choose. When we walked in, the owner (big guy with huge gauged ears) pretty much ignored us while he was having a conversation with someone he knew (someone else had come in at the same time and they took their time BSing while my husband and I waited for any kind of assistance). When he FINALLY directed his attention to us, he treated us both like he didn't want anyone in the store. The owner asked me what I was looking for, and I told him I'm looking for cichlids, because I just restarted my aquarium and wanting to get back into cichlids and aggressive community tanks. When I asked him if he had chinese algae eaters he said no.. When I asked him if he had oscars he said no. When I asked him if he had snails, he said no. When he told me he didn't have oscars, he went on to say that his oscars (when he has them in) are "far more expensive than I'd be used to." Excuse me? Did he really just assume what my income bracket was? I felt incredibly insulted that this person would try to tell me that I couldn't afford an oscar from his store, treating me like I'm someone who doesn't know anything about the aquarist hobby. At least he did do one good thing: He directed me to try another fish store in town, which turned out to have everything I needed. So he definitely lost another customer that he foolishly didn't want. I don't know what this guy's deal is, but I don't recommend his store. The whole setup looks like he isn't really running a fish store at all, just a building with SOME fish that he's not interested in really selling. And with his attitude and assumptions on whether or not people can afford the fish he doesn't even have, I'd rather risk getting an ich-infested fish at PetCo (and thankfully I didn't have to). I don't know if this business is brand new and he's just figuring things out, or if the owner is a legitimately terrible business-owner.. Whatever the situation is, I won't be going back there. Treating your potential customers like they're broke and ignorant is a very quick way to watch your business go belly-up. Pun intended.

The Fish Shop used to be my favorite place to get fish in the Valley. I even put up with their high prices just to support them in the hopes that they would succeed. I spent hundreds at the shop and the owner Mike still acted like a complete unprofessional douche. He insults his customers will selling sick and completely overpriced live stock. I will never step foot in this store again. There are way better, professional, and cheaper local shops. AVOID the FISH SHOP at all costs. You will thank me for not having to deal with mike and your wallet will thank you for not overpaying!!!
