Story

Opened in January 2012, Gnarly Barley is the realization of three young guys ambition to provide the community with a great place for food, beer, and company. Located in South Orlando on the cusp of the Belle Isle community features an extensive sandwich menu, specials, featured brunches, and beer dinners. But really we're here for the beer. Gnarly Barley features 16 taps, 1 beer engine, and an extensive bottle/can list of frequently rotating beers, ciders, and meads.

Really like the atmosphere. There's a good selection of craft beers (some I'd never heard of), the servers were cordial and attentive, and the food came out quick and fresh. I'd probably never notice it while driving, so I'm thankful a friend invited me along. The only reason I took a star away is because the bean tacos I got didn't really have much flavor and the chair I was on made me question whether I'd be on the floor by the time we finished (who knows, maybe that's a part of the charm). I plan on returning and trying out a dish they're more known for (like brisket).

Always an interesting choice of beer. The owners really go out of their way to  locate unusual beers that aren't going to be found elsewhere. The staff all seem to genuinely love beer and are knowledgeable. 

We mustn't forget the food. Everything I have eaten has been good, brisket tacos are a regular choice for me. The mac n cheese, grown up grilled cheese, subs and salads are all top quality.

Food is so good. Beer that you won't find anywhere else. I love it. Staff are great. They remember what you like and are very helpful . If you like good craft beer you must stop in for a beer or two. Believe me you will come back for more.

I would have driven right by this place if not for someone telling me about it. A small place, with limited seating. There are some seats outside. Seems to be an after work watering hole. Selection of beers was nice. Food not bad.

Smashed potatoes had too much mustard and the tacos were mediocre. I'd give them another chance maybe we just ordered the wrong things. There beer selection was good and very reasonable prices.
