A beautiful, huge resort. The decor is from an elegant bygone era and is wonderful to see . There is lots of history to absorb, and lots activities to enjoy. The spa services are nice although the spa facilities are not as updated as you might like. All of the staff is delightful. Lots family activities and lots of room to spread out. The bunker tour is very interesting.

The location is a bit out if the way from any direction, but the resort itself is very gorgeous. Driving up, the atmosphere hits you immediately. One of the activities we did was the Reel Escape Room, which I recommend for all escape room enthusiasts. It does bot rely heavily on black light and is one of the better ones, if not the best, I have solved. The decorations are wonderful. Food is mildly pricey.

Their rich tradition of hospitality continues to impress! The staff excels at letting you relax and enjoy time with your family. Restaurants are fantastic, they're all consistent in their quality. They're all different enough you don't get bored over a longer stay. The shops are fun and selection appeals to all members of family. Casino is smaller but lots of fun. The history of the place makes it exciting but also unique. I like the bunker tour, hard to believe. A family of four with younger children had a ball and it was tough to leave. We look forward to the return trip.

I felt like I was entering another world.... the entrance is so majestic and beautiful. Surrounded by beautiful green mountains, the drive from the airport was silent... everyone took in the beautiful scenery. Beautiful rolling hills as far as the eye can see.... The maid welcomed me by name as I passed her in the hall, returning the second year. Unbelievable service everywhere in the hotel. They grow their own fresh fruit and vegetables, the food is so tasty! I loved the blackberries and strawberries. If you stay here, go on the Greenbrier Ghost tour and also a historical tour of the hotel, the history is wonderful. Also make sure you take the secret underground bunker tour, that was absolutely amazing to see. It boggled my mind to think about how they built it in plain sight in 1958-1960 when they built the west wing... and how they kept it in a constant state of readiness for 1800 people! Prescriptions, fresh food, clothing, etc. supplies for a year. The administrative overhead on this must have been mind boggling. They have the original bunk beds, the dentist office, crematorium, dining hall, and last but not least - the huge hidden doorway that is 24" thick, filled with cement so it can withstand a nuclear blast. VERY interesting stuff! Plenty of interesting things to do... golf, skeet shooting, fly fishing, horse and carriage, horse riding, train station tour, gift shops, the President's Cottage, it goes on and on. You literally could shop all day and not see everything! The spa and indoor pool is so relaxing! Highly recommend!!

We had a very nice Christmas at the Greenbrier. The amenities are excellent, although I am surprised they do not have a hot tub in the pool area or spa. The sporting clays course is always fun. I got a hair cut, they did a nice job, and I felt the price was reasonable. I wish more amenities were included with the stay like perhaps bowling, wine tasting, iceskating, or the bunker tour, but we did enjoy the ballroom dancing class and afternoon tea times that were offered.
