Definitely off the beaten path, but worth it! I've checked other martial arts places for my kids and myself, and nothing compares. For the same price as a karate or taekwondo place with a bunch of 8 year old black belts running around, my son gets Judo, Jiujitsu and Kickboxing- and I get to work out while he's in class! Love it.

Great Kids Classes! My 5 Y.O Daughter and 11 Y.O Son take the Judo and the muay thai Classes here during the week. They just love them so much. Judo has really helped my 11Y.O with his focus and respect and for my daughter its a great way to get all that energy out she always has. Perks of being a member here is that while the kids go through their classes my husband and I can work out in their gym at The same time. It makes everything super easy on our schedule. On top of the kids loving the classes and the perks as parents., the whole place is always clean from the locker rooms to the mats that the classes are on. When we signed up the general manager was very nice and made sure that the kids felt comfortable in the classes and that we as parents also understood everything about how the classes and gym work. Great place Great People Great Prices. Five stars but only because there are not 10.

Watch out these guys might try to rip you off. When I went to cancel my contract it was like they disappeared. The certified letter I sent couldn't be delivered even though the address was correct (I checked before I sent it and after when the letter was returned to me). Then, when I sent a second letter, which I assumed was delivered nothing happened. I kept trying to call to see what happened and it took days of calling before someone would answer the phone. Finally someone said they would take care of it, but in the meantime they charged me for another month. Just be careful of their business practices.

The Hit Squad As I walked in the gym, the look resembled a forward operating base, “FOB,” in Operation Iraqi Freedom” OIF. The colors were desert camo, “forest green and desert tan,” the same as many of the military gyms in the middle east. There is desert camouflaged mesh covering half the walls. The location is tucked away, in what was a military base and still houses some military members in reserve and active components. The gym is sectioned off into a weight lifting area, comprised of free weights and machines. There is a cage barrier between the weight lifting area and matted section. The mats are desert camouflage and also have a military style. Inside the matted section there is a fully functional mixed martial arts cage that is raised off the ground. They have a full scale boxing ring and have most of the conventional striking equipment; punching bags, thai bags, double end bags and speed bags. On top of the striking area there is a cardio area with elliptical machines, stationary bikes and treadmills. The gym has changed since 2010. In the patrons, ownership and teachers. There is more beginners at the gym, these days. I did one brazilian jiu-jitsu class, it was made up of a lot of newbes white belts when I was in the class there was no blue belts and I was the only purple belt. The instructor is a black belt and has won a few tournaments at the black belt level. At least that’s who was teaching the brazilian jiu-jitsu class when I did the class. He showed a basic arm bar from guard after doing warm up drills, shrimps, rolls and reversed, side shrimps. I did about four hundred arm bars, and then a umaplata from guard as a secondary from a arm bar. After there was a short rolling section which was about fifteen minutes long. The class was only a hour long and seemed kind of rushed, in brazilian jiu-jitsu, there is no rush and it takes time. The experienced practitioner may need more then a hour to advance in the art and get the most out of training physically, mentally, and spiritually. I also did a mixed martial arts sparring classes. The warm up was the same as the brazilian jiu-jitsu class and it seemed rushed. More sets of shrimps for more muscle recruitment and muscle memory. The sparring was good, but there was only one, three minute round with mixed martial arts training gloves. Again, it was like rushed. There was conditioning afterward, which is good, but it is much more logical, If you want to be proficient at mixed martial arts then do mixed martial arts. The intensity can change, but the action of mixed martial arts sparring proceeds the conditioning. Mixed martial arts sparring is more important, then just conditioning. You can do conditioning and be in very good shape, but not doing enough mixed martial arts sparring and your timing is going to be off for mixed martial arts and the perception the movements is going to be off. Sport specific training is important, if you want to advance in brazilian jiu-jitsu then do a lot of brazilian jiu-jitsu It is a very simple concept. There also was a twelve day free pass online, but I did two classes and told the twelve day pass was no longer vaild.
