We decided we were craving Italian after a long day at Universal Studios. After googling places close to where we were staying we decided to go with The Italian Joint which was way out of the way but the menu seemed like it would be pretty good. Instantly after walking in the place smelled amazing. We got the Chicken Parmesan and the Pasta Vodka and it was honestly the best Italian food we have ever eaten. It was phenomenal!!! Not only was the food great but the staff were very attentive and just awesome.
If you want authentic Italian food... DO NOT GO HERE!! If I were able to put a zero star I would. Definitely a ‘you get what I make’ type of place. We ordered “grandma’s goodness” and “pasta perfecto” both meals came out watery and flavorless. We let the lady in the front know that we respectfully would like to send the dish back. The service was distasteful. She went and got the chef and because he was personally offended he kicked us out of the restaurant. As I’ve seen on other reviews the restaurant likes to respond and I quote “It is a pity that you did not let us know at the time to try to solve any inconvenience that we can verify.” We did this and we were told to get out of the chefs home. He made a scene in front of other costumers and it was very embarrassing as we even offered to pay for what we ate… what a pity :/ The video will be posted on google maps. Edited: We told the waitress that we did not like our food. We did not ask for the chef…who came out of nowhere telling us to leave because he felt offended about our honesty. We offered to pay for what we ate and were told and I quote “I don’t need your money”
A late lunch at The Italian Joint in Kissimmee. Entering, you notice a smattering of tables but it opens up in the back as it gets busier. We sat by the window overlooking the downtown sidewalk. We ordered an appetizer of The This and That consisting of fried cheese triangles, calamari and garlic knots with a marinara sauce. The sauce was very good and thick and the plate was delicious. My wife ordered the Mak’in It Caprese Salad which was a huge Caprese salad with fried eggplant and two large pieces of mozzarella in a light vinaigrette dressing. My lunch entree was the Zuppa, pasta with clams, mussels and shrimp in a light tomato sauce. The only thing the Zuppa was missing was fresh grated cheese in which was delivered on request. Both meals were perfect and the server was friendly and quick. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you are given. Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in the south.
We couldn’t wait so we ate the whole thing. Ordered chicken parmigiana with linguine and salmon. The salmon he ate everything in it. Great taste. The chicken excellent. This will be my Joint from now on. Thank you I recommend this place. Love the food. Great taste.
Delightful scratch kitchen in downtown Kissimmee. Prices reflect the quality and care put into each dish. Very traditional, flavors are outstanding. Service was prompt and very friendly. I ordered the salmon margherita with broccolini and confetti potatoes. My partner ordered the chicken parmesan.
Excellent, friendly service. I highly recommend the Hot Gardener Sandwich, add mozzarella. The Tiramisu is the real deal holyfield too. Vegetarian options: The Hot Gardener is a great option. The Formaggio is another. They have a plated dish that is all veggie too. I will definitely be coming back to try that.
Great Italian restaurant with the ability to create outstanding vegan options fir their customers. We picked up pizza Friday for Lunch I had to come back Saturday to get another Vegan Margarita pizza with my wife. That cheese was so good you couldn't tell it was non dairy. The atmosphere and cleanliness of this place 5/5 star. Our waitress was very knowledgeable when it comes to understanding the menu and what it takes to insure people with food allergies get their orders correct. LOVE THIS PLACE!
As I opened the door, I was moved to a different time and place. An Italian crooner is playing overhead while the smells of fresh spices and the sight of the fire that burns in the cooking hearth: Italian food at its finest. I grew up in a Sicilian/Italian neighborhood in Connecticut and The Italian Joint has transported me to the rich memories of my youth. Food is prepared and brought together to become friends on my plate. There is a chill atmosphere here, life feels right and in today’s rushed world I already feel the relaxing embodiment of what my Soul needed. A lady nearby is enjoying her salad and soup lunch special, Pasta e Fagiole. She tells me for the same cost of a non-satisfying meal that she has had a million times, that instead she can relax. Isn’t that a nice defining word? Truly it defines my visit, too. I’m relaxed. I’m not in and out of quickly, I savor the experience. Had I wanted a quick meal I would have gone up the street but it would not look like this, taste like this, or calm me like this meal. I ordered garlic knots, you’ve had them a million times yourself but when was the last time they were covered in flavorful cheese dripping in garlic and oil? 6 were on my plate, I’m bringing 3 home and I’ll tell my wife it was only 4 served. I dinned on the DaVinci Chicken lunch serving and left with enough food to sate my palate for another meal or two. I’ll have to transport it in the trunk otherwise I might peek in on it. Accidentally of course. Does a meal like this need to be eaten every day? No. But when the stresses of life, politics, and stupid COVID-19 bring me down, this will be my go to therapy. Because the right environment can be therapeutic and here we are all friends. Unless you touch my plate. Then all bets are off. I don’t know how the Lemmon cake landed on my table.
Wonderful food and amazing customer service. The atmosphere is just delightful. The owners are outstanding... 100% recommended.
Awesome location downtown, excellent wood-fired pizza, crunchiest cannoli ever, warm atmosphere and friendly service. Close enough to walk to the library or lakefront park. Will be coming back again!
