Very nice place for a romantic dinner. During summer they have outside patio tables, but inside is honestly nicer. The staff is very helpful and cordial. The menu includes the calorie estimate for each meals, for those interested in not under or over eating. The food was amazing, I ordered a pork rib rack which was tender and good tasting and sadly over before I knew it.

Visited this location for the first time in the Summer for my partner's birthday dinner. The staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable (even put up with my parent's mom and dad jokes with a smile). We were recommended great wine based on our preferences and were allowed to take our time chatting and enjoying our meal at our pace. We never felt rushed. You are not able to make reservation from 7:00 pm onward, but they have a nice bar section where you can wait for your table if you need. My suggestion though, is to make the reservation slightly before the cut-off time (6:30-6:45 pm) so you are guaranteed a spot. Nice outdoor seating during Summertime, and cozy fireplace areas during the winter.

This downtown Ottawa location used to be the place to go if you want a good steak... not anymore..at least not for me...the quality of the steaks and especially the side dish such as rice were horrible...full of butter.. when my plate was presented it was a scoop of rice and a half a spoon of crispy onions.. presentation was zero....i suppose the butter from the rice moved under the steak.. now everything was tasting like a butter..I understand now what type of clients The Keg Steakhouse wants..a few months back I was at the Scarborough location snd that was the first time I've noticed the ton of butter issue..I thought it's that particular location.. however..it is not..the quality is going down..I will never go back again... neither my family or friends...good job The Keg..not worth a meal for the $$

Excellent! We went early on a Sunday evening and enjoyed some awesome steaks and a fine cocktail. We all had the garlicky double baked potatoes with our meals and left the place without dessert because we were too full! I highly recommend The Keg in the market. (Plus we got lucky and found a parking space right in front!)

Went for father's birthday, and the spot was a great choice! The food was absolutely incredible, the staff were extremely friendly, and the location was nice in the heart of the byward market. Atmosphere and decor was a little lack lustre, but the food sure made up for it. 5/5 stars and would absolutely come back again!
