The Lakes Mall used to have everything you could even need from name brand clothing to videogames to great electronics. Now even though many stores are leaving there are so many small businesses like the Estates Sales Warehouse and others who offer products for people of all incomes. I'm really looking forward to seeing if they might put a gym in here with some of the stores leaving and I did enjoy the Haunted Hall during Halloween season. Something has to be done to bring the bigger and better stores in since otherwise I could see it turned into a ghost town later on.

I truly enjoy going to one of the last old school malls from the 90's. Probably won't be around in 5 years so check it out while you still can. There is never a large crowd and if you go through bed bath and beyond when the open up at 9 am you can enter the mall while all the other stores are closed and walk with all of the mall walkers. Exciting fun no matter how you slice it. Most of the stores are smaller so sometimes selection can be a little off but overall a nice place.

The place looks good for the holidays. The vacant stores are being used for some temporary stores, so the place is bustling. Park out back to avoid the traffic in front! Much easier to shop here than in Grand Rapids. Lots of food places in the area as well. 4 stars instead of 5 because they just don't have the selection of stores available that a larger community could support.

I would like to be fair for this mall. As it is a former place of work and a hometown venue, but it has declined in terms of store quality and quantity. It seems to stumble along and the stores can't create enough appeal for the crowds to come in. I do enjoy the food court venues like Little Easy or Auntie Anne's Pretzel Place, but for store variety, it's either too expensive, or not in my certain taste. I'm hoping for a better turnaround with the mall as it is struggling for business, so praying for that incline back into successful business.

Although normally I go to the mall not for shopping since all the stores I liked most have long since gone. I usually go because they have a great play area my kid loves. But today I saw that they still have a man under their employ who months ago sexually harassed my best friend and I. We were told he does this all the time by a worker for one of their stores that's another friend of mine. We filed a formal complaint, and since he does this all the time, I'm sure others have as well. This has sealed the deal for me on not coming back for a good long time, since the only reason I go anyways is the play area due to their lack of good stores, I don't need to go to a place that won't fire their employees even though they receive complaints that they're sexually harassing their customers. The only reason why I'm giving this a 1 star is because you can't choose 0 stars. Very disappointed.
