From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with such warmth and welcoming. As you transition to the bar, they set the tone for an evening of wonderfulness. My only issue was I needed to close out the bar tab before heading to my table. The food quality, ingredients and value are spectacular. A lot of the menu items are things I cannot find prepared in CT. On that note I felt as if I was in NY. This is a 5 star restaurant with a wonderful casual feel. There's an amazing piano bar as well for after dinner drinks. The restaurant was a place I found myself lingering all night.
Great setting outside but the food and service were genuinely terrible. Our lobster ravioli had been thawed and refrozen so many times that it was completely tasteless and inedible while our salad had no seasoning, and even our G&T's looked like they had been assembled by a mental patient. The interior of the restaurant is dark and fairly depressing and the tv left on in the background really did not help. While they did have ample staff, can't say any of them were properly trained so empty glasses were not attended to and for some reason we had two staff members clearing glasses and napkins while we were still paying the bill.....given the restaurant was fairly empty it got a bit weird why all of a sudden our table got attention instead of just doing the clearing service 5 minutes later after we left. On the plus side of life, when the weather is nice they have a lovely seating area outside with good views
Terrific! Lunch on the terrace was a delight…one of the few days without heat and humidity. The menu is varied, and has something for everyone. The food is wonderful, and attractively presented. Waiter, Michael, couldn’t have been more friendly and professional. Likewise, the valet gave us a warm greeting and an invitation to return. The Lion is a gem!
I went first time when to the lion opens I had very bad experience with the service and the waitress i had reservations at 8 I waited till 8:50 but I understand they just open it was busy . I give another chance it was little better. This is my ten times I go to the lion I always try to give another chance until I found the dish I like bouillabaisse unfortunately the food never consistent Never the the same taste every time!!’ All my friends they say the same !!!!! We went 4 of us yesterday for dinner I was excited to show my 2 French friends the location because it’s beautiful sitting outdoor . We was very disappointed by the food very my Bouillabaisse was a désastre it’s taste and smell like bad the fish inside smell too really désastre , the French fries oily. No one of us could digest the food. Wake up the next day still not feeling good from food . It’s so bad because they have a good location.
I had egg benedict for lunch and it was delicious. Bread pudding for dessert, yummiest! I can say it's a little bit pricey but the food, service and atmosphere are fantastic
The staff is super friendly and warm. The food is terrific. I have no idea what these haters are talking about. Try it for yourself. I'm Italian an a huge foodie and this food is very good.
Great restaurant. The food is always delicious and great quality. Open for lunch , dinner and now open for amazing brunch on the weekends. Service is always outstanding. Super friendly bartenders and the bar has a piano player . In the summer beautiful outdoor sitting patio overlooking the waterfall. They also do take out and delivery. I highly recommend to try it! You won't be disappointed.
Waitstaff is amazing. Management is horrible they are more like hostesses than anything else. To old school need to get with the times
Waaaay overpriced and pretentious. I had a Margarita cocktail, which was good - but $22? The appetizer special was Carpaccio - two roughly 3x3” paper thin slices of beef and heaps of greens - again $22. Entrees were very good but not outstanding. Any sides are $12, so entrees quickly rise from $40 or so to more than $50+. Totally out of synch with this neighborhood. Oh, there is also a mandatory valet service. They have knocked down the walls int the main dining room, and the noise was excessive even with only a few tables occupied. It will be interesting how long they last past the summer when the patio will be a big draw.
I LOVE the Lion. Living in the area we are so lucky to have this new addition. Deymar is fantastic, and Noah the bartender is a legend! The service is exceptional, even the valet, Carlos, always makes my experience perfect. I recommend sitting outside with a view of the mill. The french onion soup is the best in town as well as the delicious hot dog! Can’t wait to visit again.
