Really great and fresh food.  We ate at the Raw Bar and ordered half a dozen oysters on a half shell and half a dozen of  blue crabs.  The oysters were shucked right in front of you and plated on ice with lemon wedges and sauce.  They were so good!  The crabs were sweet and succulent, and seasoned with old bay.  The food was so good that we came back for dinner.  Worth coming back for.  The price is very affordable.

I grew up at the Jersey Shore so I have been to a number of seafood restaurants. The Lobster House is more of a tourist trap than anything. The food was fresh but, I didn’t really care for the menu options. I had broiled scallops that were very good and they give you a nice amount of them so no complaints there. Rated 3 stars only because of the menu options, I feel like you can get what they offer at another seafood restaurant. They do give you soup or salad with two sides with each plate so that is definitely a plus. However a bowl of chowder is $10!

Sometimes it’s a bit of a factory atmosphere... endless dining rooms and servers running everywhere. The side dishes leave something to be desired— plain salads, conventional potatoes, and stewed tomatoes that oftentimes is more stew than tomato. And they don’t take reservations. And it can be pricey. But where it counts... perfectly prepared lobster and seafood.. it’s hard to beat the Lobster House.

I’d give this place a 5-star rating if they’d turn the lights-up in the dining areas. The restaurant is dismally dark (not romantically dark, in spite of the candles on the table-thankful they are there to provide a little more lighting)! I find it almost as difficult to read the menu here as I did while trying to do so at “Ruth’s Chris” restaurant in Atlantic City a few years ago. (At least they gave us flashlights with the menus-not kidding)! It makes me suspicious as to why they don’t want to make things visible in the dining areas?!?! 
Anyway, first and most important, they DO NOT accept reservations here (well maybe they do for very large parties-not sure about that).... and people start lining-up to be seated about a half-hour before the restaurant opens. (My boyfriend and I initially thought they must offer an ‘early-bird special’? They do not., but if you want window seating with views of the water you need to be either early or lucky)! It’s a popular-year-round.l place to go. As locals in CM Co., we enjoy sitting at the bar for a while observing the fast-growing line of persons waiting to be seated. (Fortunately-you can get full dining service at the bar! And the bartenders are very competent , professional, and friendly). 
The hustling waitresses are forced to wear sailor-type uniform dresses that are reminiscent of the female naval personal of decades past). With no disrespect meant toward those brave woman, this could stand an update - tradition be damned!
In spite of ordering the usual seafood fare here, I prefer to order the NY Strip Steak as the chef knows how to put a proper sear on the meat to make each bite a wonderful dining experience. Others with me generally order the more traditional fare and always enjoy it. WARNING! The bread they provide when you are seated is unbelievably delicious. Fresh baked loaf with everything on it in seasoning. (Yes, you can buy loaves to go)! It’s easy to fill-up on this before the meals come... . 
Finally, there is also a seafood take-out store at this establishment. Get a number ticket as soon as you enter. There rarely isn’t a line of people waiting there, regardless of the speed in which the staff operate! I frequently stop-in here to buy a variety of the fresh offerings they have (and I do mean FRESH). Oh, and you can buy loaves of that wonderful bread here as well!
A local favorite (especially during the ‘off-season’) as well as a very popular visitor destination. Oh, they also have an outdoor bar on an old clipper ship on the water in the rear of the restaurant! Boater destination as well!

I haven't visited the Lobster House since I was a teenager.  Almost 35 plus years ago.  The food and staff was just as magnificent as I remembered. It was an awesome experience to walk in to the cozy and quaint establishment and still recieve fresh seafood and warm smiles all at a great price.  I will definitely visit here again.  My family is from the area and I was down to visit my pass.  It was a pleasure to share an exact memory with my husband for most family members aren't alive  anymore but the Lobster House without the staff knowing welcomed me home. Thank You.  Our server was Ms. Joan a beautiful, spunky,  young lady😉😍. I look forward to coming back!
