My husband and I took my elderly parents for an overnight stay at Elk Creek Vineyards. This was the second time my spouse and I stayed there. This time it was under new management. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, winery tour and entertainment at the Winery. The views are gorgeous and atmosphere very peaceful. However, since our last stay we were disappointed with the lodging and breakfast. The air conditioner units at The Estates rooms were very loud in our room as well as that of our parents. We all got very little sleep due to that. They changed breakfast from the Winery to The Lodge. This required my elderly parents to climb a large set of stairs which was difficult for them. It was a much nicer breakfast previously at the Winery. After breakfast, we did not get to purchase our bottles of wine to take home as we did our visit before, because the Winery was closed the morning we had to leave and The Lodge stated that they could not sell wine. Overall I recommend Elk Creek Vineyards. We won't stay at The Estates again, but my spouse and I may consider lodging at one of their other accommodations. Hopefully that would result in a better lodging experience.

Our stay was FABULOUS!! It was quite intimate, quiet, and a beautiful place in the country. Wine was Great!! I would definitely recommend this place for a couple getaway.....

Great place to spend a day or two, especially for a shooter.

I was incredibly underwhelmed by many things about our stay. The staff members were nice. However, much of the lodge needed a little bit of care. Overgrown shrubs/trees in the entry made the place seem untidy and also blocked much of the view from our room. When walking from the entry level sitting room to the deck, we felt like we nearly broke the door or handle because the didn't turn properly and was loose and the door had to be slammed against to get it to shut. The stairs leading from the entry level to the second level were worn and had peeling, colorful/patterned duct tape on them where there would likely have been a traction strip. The "breakfast" was much like a cheap motel breakfast; packaged foods, frozen/heated items. There were signs made from a label maker everywhere, saying not to touch certain things. In our room, the dresser and nightstand were worn and the finish was peeling, but not in a rustic/shabby chic way. The bathroom didn't feel super clean (many cobwebs in corners, stained edges in the tub). The winery staff were one of two extremes. The gentleman behind the "cafe" counter was incredibly polite and friendly. The older lady behind the bar was helping us, but I felt more like an inconvenience than a guest. I purchased a sampling for $6, which I found strange, as most wineries I've been to in Michigan and California offer free sampling, waive the sampling fee if you purchase a bottle, or give some sort of souvenir glass if they change a small fee. Between my samples, the lady kept walking away to do other things and would come back saying "oh, I keep forgetting about you. What's your next one. Okay. Here you go.". Never once did she ask me how I liked any of them or give me any information other than "That Riesling is our best seller.". I did end up purchasing a couple bottles of the wines I enjoyed most. Everything that I experienced, felt like an attempt to be a classy, high-end place, but every single time it fell short. I won't be coming back here, nor will I recommend it to others.
