ABOUT THE COMCAST CENTER

Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects, Comcast Center is a 58-story, 975' high office tower encompassing approximately 1,250,000 rentable square feet, including 36,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space; multiple three-story stacked atria; a one-half acre landscaped public park; a new entrance to Philadelphia's main suburban station via a dramatic 120 foot-high glass enclosed winter garden; a 500-seat concourse-level dining court and an 87 private-space underground parking garage. It incorporates a sustainable design approach and was awarded LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, making it one of the tallest, urban green office buildings in the United States. The tower officially opened in June of 2008 and serves as the new world headquarters for Comcast Corporation and regional headquarters for Citizens Bank.

Putting aside any strong opinions about the actual business of Comcast, the market and shops are actually pretty cool. At least they are until too many people get there. When crowded, like the Schuylkill Expressway that surrounds the city, it can become a horrible experience. But the rest of the time you'll find a good choice of places to eat, and enough shops to divert your attention for a Time. Not necessarily a destination just for those things, but a good alternative to anything the street has to offer.

A hidden gem below the Comcast Center. They have a nice variety of suit shops and restaurants.  The standouts are Panda Express and Di Bruno Bros. Be sure you can bare the cost of a good meal. Nothing here is cheap.

Fantastic selection of lunchtime eateries, along with a market for fruits and vegetables etc. Plus good coffee choices--Termini Bros serves La Colombe! And there's a Starbucks just up the stairs.

Very nice marketplace located in the basement of the Comcast tower. It is connected via underground paths to Suburban Station, City Hall, the Broad Street Subway, and elevated rail lines. Busy during lunch.

Clean environment and convenient location. While there are some good options, I wish there were more - Just not a ton of variety. Nevertheless, it is a rainy day place to be, just be careful as it will be crowded and tough to find a seat.
