Fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs, the one-floor facility houses an adult, young adult, and children's collection.
The Throg's Neck Branch of The New York Public Library, located at the intersection of East Tremont Avenue and the Cross Bronx Expressway Extension, was opened in September 1974. Fully accessible to persons who use wheelchairs, the one-floor facility houses an adult, young adult, and children's collection.
A large mural celebrating "Sesame Street" adorns the north wall of the courtyard adjacent to the children's room. It was painted during the summer of 1977 by a local artist who was assisted by several neighborhood children. Opened to the public since 1954, the branch was originally located in a storefront two blocks west on East Tremont Avenue.
