When I broke my wrist and was in need of a hand/wrist expert near me, I found the Orthopedic Institute of NJ. The positives: the facility is very nice and spotless. And the physical therapist (shared space, but not same practice) was great. Other than that... I would NEVER recommend this place. It's a meat market where they care only about the money, not YOU. Never once was I greeted with "hello, how are you today?" No, it was "your copay is..." As for the hand/wrist 'expert,' I saw Dr. Frank Corrigan - for about 3 minutes. He said "we could do surgery or we could do a cast." "OK, YOU'RE the doctor! What do you recommend?" He shrugged his shoulders, indicating there was no difference. We decided then on a cast, which was applied by someone else in the office, not the doctor. No bones were set; the break was never explained to me; I never even saw the x-rays. Fast-forward 8-10 weeks. The cast was removed - again, by a junior person, not the doctor. I immediately saw that my wrist was deformed. I went through PT for several months. Since then, I've seen a REAL hand/wrist expert and was told that my wrist absolutely should have had surgery, that it was not a simple break, but a compound fracture. Corrigan took the easy way out because he didn't give a damn. If you need a hand/wrist expert, look elsewhere!

I was at the Urgent Care here on Sunday, then was given an appointment with the surgeon Dr. Corrigam on Monday! Great service, great docs. I love them.

We happened across Orthopedic Institute of NJ because they have an after hours emergency facility. It was much better than going to the ER. Got right in to be seen. Unfortunately, my son had a torn ACL. We had Dr. Shamim who is really good. We were able to do all the pre op and post op physical therapy there as well which was really convenient. The office staff is fantastic and totally on top of everything, including coordinating all the insurance, along with the school secondary insurance. Overall, our experience there has been excellent. I would whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone!
