We went during Paleyland. There were several floors of holiday theme displays. Those included meeting and getting pictures with Santa, holiday trains, and holiday movies. Each floor is small, but it was beautifully put together. It is a great space to visit with children.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
What a surprise!! Right in the middle of Manhattan no less!! If you love football and even like it; this is a must--they let you take all the time you want to go thru the exhibits and they have memorabilia from the NFL hall of fame that I know I would never get to see if I hadn't come to the Paley Center.
Professional and courteous staff. Loved the exhibits. Will and Grace. Also the Roberto Clemente exhibit. The Movie is a must watch ! And your library is great for research. A great place to learn. Will be back!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$16–20
Event: Barbie Family Day Pros: As soon as you walk in you feel the welcoming environment and loved the entrance where you have an opportunity to take pictures. My daughter was so happy with the barbie giveaway and held on to her box like it was the best thing ever! She got super excited because she recognized the masked singer costumes but we decided to see that exhibit after going up to he 4th floor for the barbie day activities. When we got upstairs, truly DISAPPOINTED. We decided to go see the masked singer costumes instead and she played a video game for 8 mins and left the center after that. Cons: The only exciting part of this event was the Barbie giveaway and the photo opportunities in the entrance. My assumption was that if the entrance is so colorful and welcoming that the rest would be as big but I was wrong. I definitely think the event was not properly organized and the “arts and craft” was not that. Putting papers and crayons is NOT considered arts and crafts. For example, I saw a sheet of coloring page of wings and I thought how cool it would have been if there were life size wings that the girls could decorate and wear or maybe have Barbie’s printed on card stock paper with arts and crafts materials like stickers, glitter and pom poms to decorate their dress and kids can be mini fashion designers. My daughter LOVES arts and craft and she like other kids we’re not engaged or interested by a coloring page and crayons. Then, I looked for the toys section where kids could play with and honestly the toy to kids ratio didn’t match. Not enough toys and too many kids in such a small space. Then I went downstairs to the area for my daughter to play with the video games and it was only 8 minute per child which is fine but I think the staff in this area could’ve been more enthusiastic and more engaging with the kids playing. The staff member could’ve been like “whoa how cool!” And cheer kids on but instead felt the staff frustrated by the number of kids at event. Last but not least the barbie box to take pictures was cool for the older kids and adults but for the little ones it was too big. It would have been nice to see the staff engaging more with visitors. Maybe next time have a smaller one for little ones. Barbie is HUGE and little girls look up to her so the expectations were higher and this event seemed so exciting when you arrived but a big fail. I do want to note that there was one staff member with a pink top he was the one that called out the winner for the first raffle that was the ONLY one that engaged with visitors and was so full of energy. I am not sure of his name but he definitely had that Barbie energy that the whole event needed. Maybe next time, upstairs add color, balloons, more toys, have staff members lead an arts and crafts activity or even add pink tablecloths to add a pop of color. This event was missing that pop of pink in every floor. It did not feel like a Barbie event anywhere except the main entrance.
This place is the best place to go for everything media, it has everything for every age group and will probably bring your inner child alive.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Took the grand and she had an absolute ball. She stayed in the gaming area for about 5 hours. I must admit I had a great time also. To play games that I have not played in years was amazing. Wish the would have had DK but I played versions of Pac-Man I forgot where even created. The Mask Singer exhibit was really cute. The costumes have unbelievable detail. It was a good time.
The staff were very kind. The exhibits are beautiful!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
It’s a small venue but the tech center is very well maintained. Would love to revisit some time!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Our recent visit on Sunday from 2-4 pm was marred by an unfortunate incident. Overall, everything went smoothly, except for an issue with the discriminatory treatment we encountered on the 2nd floor train show. The staff on duty displayed a noticeable lack of friendliness towards my 10-year-old son, who is an avid train enthusiast and enjoys walking alongside the running trains. While other children were allowed to engage in this activity, my son was singled out and not permitted to do so. As he passed by the staff, the staff extended his arms to hold the edge of the table, inadvertently blocking the way. Surprisingly, the staff also purposefully positioned himself right in front of my child while he was observing the trains, disrupting his experience. Unfortunately, we are unsure of the reason behind this behavior. It's important to note that my son is a shy individual, and our family is of Asian descent. This discriminatory treatment was both perplexing and disheartening, especially on Christmas eve. All the other staff are friendly and helpful. We had good time at the fourth floor making snoopy puppet. 05/01 Update : The management promptly addressed the issue. It's worth noting that the individual then working in the train room was a temporary employee, not a staff member.
We went to take a picture with Santa. Everything was beautiful and well organized, everybody was kind, and we enjoyed the free hot chocolate. There are activities and games for the kids. They also have a museum. It's a good place to go to have fun with the kids.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
