Nice place to go for a quick drink and dinner. So close to downtown bar hopping.

I was at the Pond yesterday.  Our waitress took our order and then disappeared. An hour later tired of nursing one beer and hungry we started looking around for our waitress.  She was no where to be found. Finally we got the attention of another waitress.  Our order had never been put in because the waitress left with a family emergency.  That was hard to believe as she was flirting with the bartender long after she should have put in the order. The new waitress took our order again. Eventually the original waitress appeared and apologized.  The food was delicious.  So finally two hours later we are ready to leave.  No one brings the bill.  No one asks if we need a to go box.  In disgust we take the food to the bar and ask for a to-go box and for our bill.  Oh, the management will make this right we are told.  The management took the soups $9.00 off our bill, so I guess our estimated value is $2.00 an hour.  This is too bad because the food was good, the atmosphere excellent. Not going back.

Consistently good food. Allows kids until 9 p.m. Outdoor seating is nice.

As other people have said, service can be slow. That being said, it's very easy to understand. The place has two floors, and everything is walked up and down stairs to the kitchen. It seemed our waitress had most of the top floor. Beyond that, they have some options you don't normally see (duck in particular). Most plates have the option of duck bacon. A guest of ours said the calamari was a miss, but the cheesy hash brown bites served with spicy ranch was a hit. I ordered a plate called "the game changer" which was noodles and a heaping amount of different cheeses. I opted not to add any of their add ons, but it was delicious and a large portion. A gaming site in the corner of the upper floor was a nice option to add to your evening as well.
