First of all, BEWARE OF FAKE REVIEWS! I would most certainly not recommend this person. Definitely not someone you want in a crisis- makes promises that he doesn't keep and flakes out when you need him most. Never again! cynical and uncaring.

My experience with The Portela Law Firm, P.C. was smooth and stress free. The attorneys were very responsive to my requests,  the non-lawyer staff promptly responded to my calls and e-mails. Everyone at the firm treated me with respect and were very good in terms of accessibility, understanding and addressing  my needs. Thought the whole process I received through communication and updates from the attorneys and their legal advice and opinions I received were understandable.

I had the great opportunity to be part of this team last year and it is a great place to work at, great environment and work ethics. The staff is very respectful and there is always someone available to answer any questions. Great professional experience! Everyone is very collaborative and it is refreshing to see a law firm that cares about their clients and makes its best efforts to meet their clients legal needs.

As a student seeking a Law degree The Portela Law firm is a great place to learn hands on about the procedures of the Justice System ,and the way a professional office functions. In other words the day to day things that one would not find in books such as filing forms or drafting letters. The firm's staff is always friendly and respectful. Mr. Portela is a great and honest lawyer. He possess vast knowledge of the Law which allows him to provide a clear and adequate perspective of what a client can do regarding a particular issue. The firm's overall work is always professional and of excellent quality.

As a 2L intern since August 2011, I have learned a lot in different areas of the law, from criminal matter, family law, to immigration.  The staff, the lawyers, paralegals, interns, and the support staff are all very friendly, knowledgable, and professional.  I have received hands on experience on how a law firm really works outside of the classroom.  The Portela Law Firm has an excellent team of lawyers who strive and work hard for their clients. Clients here are in great hands!
