Love this place we always get mixed seafood and a veggie platter. Some of the veggies change season to season. In the fall they have some squash which I love. But usually always have onions, green pepper, mushroom, zucchini sometimes broccoli or cauliflower. Just a note this place is popular around here and can be crowded. But the food is worth the wait. Her seafood chowder is also delicious! She does have burgers and hot dogs if you are not a seafood person. She has chicken baskets too.

My friend & I both had Fried Haddock Baskets which were served very quickly and hot. The portions were VERY generous. Truthfully, it would be almost impossible to leave hungry.  The haddock and French Fries were cooked to perfection, an opinion shared by my friend. The downside to me is no fountain soda, but that's just my personal preference.

Many times you can expect a wait at The Red Barn but such wasn't the case this visit. My friend and I arrived early (before a lunch crowd could show up) and it was a weekday as well. When there is a wait the line usually moves quickly. But, IT IS worth the wait.

There is outside seating available, but of course here in Maine it gets too darn cold to use year round. The staff here? Friendly, warm, welcoming & accommodating only begin to describe them. On one visit I had my then 4 months old cocker spaniel along and he was as warmly welcomed as I was. 

The restaurant's owner is very active in both community affairs and veteran's causes, a big plus for this veteran. She gives both her time and money, and is very sincere in her efforts. Another big plus for me is it is a locally owned business.

So here’s a question what happens when you’re done having lunch and want dessert, Well here in Maine you go to another seafood restaurant and you have some seafood chowder, Laura’s world famous seafood chowder that is. To be honest with you when I saw the sign for the foot-long lobster roll I just about had a heart attack. Looks like I might be coming back here for lunch tomorrow. I’m told by the locals that they have a fried clams and lobster to die for. If it’s as good as the chowder I definitely will be back.

I loved my first Maine lobster experience! And such a unique take on the food too! The portion sizes were HUGE and the price was great. Loved everything we ordered to try but the clams were my favorite. Great customer service and tasty food.

I love this place. Food is excellent. The service is great. I make it a point to visit here every time I travel back home.
