Welcome to The Sugar Shoppe! We provide custom wedding, anniversary, birthday cakes and more. We have a local boutique providing bakery, cake and candy supplies. Come on in and checkout all of our supplies.

Story

Welcome to the sugar shoppe! We have everything you need for your cakes and candies. We are located at 8000A East Brainerd road. Feel free to come by and take a look. Or give us a call or email us with any questions about our inventory. Place an order ahead of time for a speedy pick up. AND IF WE DON'T HAVE WHAT YOU NEED WE WILL GET IT FOR YOU.

I try to give my business to local stores instead of large corporations. I walked in on Saturday afternoon with my son to order a birthday cake. The young girl behind the counter wasn't exactly enthusiastic about helping us. I asked if they could prepare a birthday cake that would be picked up in 3 days. She mentioned that the owner was out delivering a cake and proceeded to take my contact info. I informed her that I would need the cake in a couple of days. She told me that they required a week's notice. OK no problem. Wish that had been posted on the website or somewhere in the store. I then asked if they possibly had cakes that were already prepared (like many other bakeries). She said, "No we don't have whole cakes prepared, but we have cake slices." SLICES?! Then she said, "Maybe you could try ordering from Dairy Queen." I just gave her one of those tight-lipped smiles to hide my total contempt for her at that moment and left. Why in the HELL would you say that?! I'm clearly trying to order a quality product from YOUR BUSINESS! I should have followed my first instinct and called Jackson Bakery. They have always treated me well sand I'm ashamed that I tried to go somewhere else. The only reason I wanted to try Sugar Shoppe was because of their portfolio of unique cake designs. But I'd rather have a quality cake from a business that treats me well than a nifty design from a place that couldn't care less. I'm a recruiter in HR at Volkswagen and my job requires that I treat everyone with respect. The young lady working behind the counter could use a few refresher courses on customer service and respect.

The cake is absolutely fantastic! The gentleman that comes to the Erlanger Medical Mall on Fridays is very pleasant as well. All of my coworkers have nothing but great things to say about the cake!
