My wife and I lived here where we moved to Marshalltown in 2003. The review below me (or maybe above) is correct in its claims. The building is not in very good shape. While we lived there there was a flood in the room on the other side of the wall from us. The maintenance man came into our room and cut a huge hole in our wall to access the plumbing. I worked 3rd shift at the time and the whole time they were "fixing" the pluming there was loud banging, and such causing me to miss a lot of sleep. Afterward they never fixed the hole in the wall, they just put a piece of wood over it. The building was also infested with roaches. We did not have phone service so I would go to the lobby to make phone calls on the pay phone, and while I was on the phone, roaches would be constantly crawling up and down the walls near where I was. When we decided to move out, we ended up leaving a lot of our belongings in the apartment because they had been so heavily infested with roaches that I did not want to risk infesting the place we were moving to. The owners were okay people, but the way they ran the place made them seem more like slum lords. I guess the rent wasn't all that bad, when we lived there it was $425 and that included electricity. If they would actually sink some of their millions into this building it could potentially be a great place to live. Well, that is if they would also care more about the type of people that they allowed to rent there. I know for a fact (because I witnessed it) there was a guy on the floor below us cooking meth in his apartment with a child in there. I think in it's current state, it should be condemned.

I'm amazed that people are allowed to live here. The exterior and interior are in deplorable conditions. They have "leased" the roof to various communication devices adding to the "eye-sore of the community" It's dirty, filthy, and it's as if the owners of the building are actually trying to make it look bad.
