Story

The Ugly Dog is a neighborhood pub serving the College area as well as the entire San Diego State University student body and faculty. We have 30 rotating taps and a nice bottle selection of craft beer, some of your favorite domestic beers, and a variety of ciders and meads.

We offer free pool all day, every day, a juke box that allows you to play music from your iPhone, and a large, dog-friendly patio.

Love this place! They have an extension selection of beer and great daily deals ($3 & $5 craft beers). They also have a kitchen; I recommend the hummus plate.
The bartenders have always been friendly and knowledgeable. They greet and serve you promptly. 
We love the outdoor patio with a dog friendly area, smoking section, and fun bar games. I think they have wifi too.
If you're in the College Area definitely give The Ugly Dog Pub a try.

First time hanging out around SDSU and I was not disappointed walking in to this place. The beer selection is ample, and not very expensive. They have several large TVs above and around the bar, a pool table (which I guess is free, I didn't walk over there), and plenty of other tables to sit and chill at. Apparently there's a guy who comes in every now and then and buys a round for the whole bar and he walked in while we were sitting there. So we got a free beer too! Love this place!

Amazing bar. Obviously dog friendly. Have been coming here since I turned 21. Highly recommend the bar to anyone looking to for a vast variety fo beer. Extremely friendly staff and free pool! They also have tons of games in their renovated back patio. Check them out!

This is your typical dive bar, but even the mundane bars in San Diego are better than the rest of the country. Small but good selection of craft beer and free pool!! What's not to love?!

I want to love this place, but it's terribly mismanaged. Kitchen sucks and opens whenever it feels like it. Prices are pretty high for a dive bar. Some of the bartenders are great, but others will keep you waiting forever. ...this is an update, in spite of all my complaints I do love it and I’m changing my 3 to a 4.
