When I visited UT I had a fantastic time! The campus is very beautiful, the students are nice, and the campus in general has so much to offer! If you for some reason go to Austin I would recommend stopping by!

The University of Texas at Austin (UT, UT Austin, or Texas) is a public research university and the flagship institution of the University of Texas System. Founded in 1881, its campus is located in Austin, Texas, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the Texas State Capitol. UT Austin was inducted into the Association of American Universities in 1929, becoming only the third university in the American South to be elected. The institution has the nation's eighth-largest single-campus enrollment, with over 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students and over 24,000 faculty and staff.

Too big for its breeches. They don't care about the students and treat them as a source of income rather than young people to be molded into good citizens. They see themselves as a business that needs to be ever expanding and not as a school. Class quality is incredibly uneven. The school will always take the side of a bad professor rather than investigate a problem. The financial office uses threats and sarcasm when speaking to poorer students.

Great public education institution. Also a great price for the quality of education. Also I like the atmosphere (liberal and modern) Recommend: join many student organizations and make friends as you do the service hours/volunteer to help the communities + talk to professors a lot to get to know them

Have no complaints. You will have to work hard here as you will be competing with top notch students. Other than that it's a great institution.
