This is run by a religious group, the Twelve Tribes.  It’s an experience like no other.  My rating is based on the environment and the food, not their views and ways of life.  A Google search will bring up controversial matters regarding the group.  The people I have met here are friendly, inviting, and open to conversation.  
This deli makes their food from scratch and bakes their own bread.  They own their own mate factory and offer an extensive list of teas.  Walking in feels like you’ve entered a new realm of middle earth.  The wood work, leather, and murals are hand made by members.  As for the service, it’s not bad.  Keep in mind you’re being served by someone that gives all their possessions to the group and works for the community.

The Yellow Deli looks and feels like a mix between a ride at Disney World and a scene from the Lord of the Rings.  

You can expect warm and friendly service every time you come here.  The food is cooked with some mixture of farm-fresh ingredients and care that ends up tasting great consistently. (breakfast sandwich is on the soggy side.)

They import fresh Yerba Mate from South America weekly and serve it in several varieties, while offering endless free refills of the fresh green type - you can spend less than $3 and drink Mate after Mate... considering the amazing health and antioxidant properties of Mate compared to standard coffee, this is pretty cool!

They are open 24/7 five days a week, offer free wifi, and there are plenty of shapes and sizes of seating, many of which have outlets underneath... so, while the place mostly plays out as a restaurant, it doubles as a late-night study lounge.  

Overall, this is a one-of-a-kind place, the sort of place that's fun to bring out-of-state or out-of-country visitors to.

Reminds me the the Flinstones wooden barrel looking booths and charming atmosphere.  Their vegetarian soup was delicious.

I was here last year and it was great.  Service was quick and friendly, food was great and checkout quick.  This year,  the service was terrible, food was okay and check out was painfully slow.  Everyone who worked here seemed like they were inconvenienced by the customers.   We will never be back.
