This is a wonderful mobile home park for the 55 and over set. It's within walking distance to the senior center, library, recreation center, Safeway and eureka foods.

First off, the picture featured here is NOT a picture of this Mobile Home Park! It's not that nice. or that "Quiet" Senior Living, either. 2nd, what they don't show is that it's not far from the main County Airport, which has either gotten busier or has had flight path changes because there are now frequent very low-flying, Loud airplanes, that seem like they're going to land on the street! The Mckinleyville Services Committee just voted in a massive Water Bill Hike to pay for the upgraded treatment plant. So that part of your bill will go up and up for five more years, to triple what they used to be. It says 55+, but there are many people there who were allowed in when they were under 50. and they're the Worst ones who Complain the Most (may be because they're the ones still working reg. jobs, punching the clock, instead of being retired). If you have company over to watch a ball game, for dinner, etc. Someone Will Complain. If you drive into your own carport at 11 Pm, Midnight, after going out, Someone Will Complain. You have no say as to what you can or cannot do with your own house, deck, porch, shed or what tiny little bit of "yard" you have. The Double Wides have NO yard. The space rent goes Up every year and they can charge more to newcomers to start with (They can only go up a certain percent every yr. after that). Don't pay more than $20,000 for a single wide because you'll never get your money back and even though it's called "Mobile", you can't actually move it! so you will Have To Sell It if you leave. Don't pay over $45,000 for a Double Wide because you'll never get that much if you sell it later. There are companies going around California buying up Mobile Home parks and raising rents, like they have at Ocean West Mobile Park in Mckinleyville and Lazy-J Park in Arcata, right down the 101 a couple miles away.
