Thurgood Marshall School of Law is a great environment for future Texas lawyers. Infact, the institution's mission is to strenghen, and promote excellence in academic achievement as well as using different kinds of teaching methods to help students reach their full potentials! The institution appears to be defendently committed to turning today's law students into tomorrow's Texas lawyers. However, , like some law schools, they do have some challenges that can easily be resolve. For in stance, all students don't study as often as they should study. All law students don't meet their law proffessor half way. While I was there to tour the institution's law library, and do a quick study, in the back of me, I heard some of the law students who sat in the back of me v, appearing to be goofing off. It made me wonder why aren'tvthey trying their best in their studies. Why aren't they remembering why they decided to be a lawyer. What would they do if former Associate Justice Thurgood Marshall knew they goofed off- Despite of that fact, I believe there are some law students there who are truly asstriving in their studies to be apart of the legal career. And some day I hope to be apart of my dream career in the practicing law area of my choice. Like our civil rights lawyers, I hope to assist our communities with continuing the legacy of the civil rights movement. Also, in honoring one of America's greatest leaders of the civil rights movement, the former Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, who serve from October 1967 until October 1991, and who was the Court's 96th justice and its first African-American justice, Thurgood Marshall AKA Mr. Civil Rights! And may our God bless his legacy, and his family!

I've said it many times. If TMSL was filled with students who are not minorities, with the same exceptional caliber of professors, it would not be ranked as 2nd tier law school. I'm so grateful to have been accepted by this law school. The course load is challenging and the professors really care about students learning. I'm working diligently to get our state legislature to invest more money in our legal education. If we were distributed funding on par with other Texas state law schools, we would have more programs to prepare us for the bar and other legal opportunities. Thank you TMSL for believing in me and not some stupid LSAT test score.

I cannot praise Thurgood Marshall School of Law enough. First they afforded me, like many others, the opportunity to improve myself & the quality of life for my family. They gave me the ability to better help others, all while opening my eyes. You cannot help but have your eyes opened at the institution. It is the most racially, diverse Law School in the U.S. You will not only study law but learn perspective from may different cultures and beliefs. This is very important because it is ultimately the people who make the law. You may be surprised how an issue can evolve when seen through the eyes of someone else. No law school is perfect. Every administration will have hiccups. You will not get along with 100% of your classmates. Just because someone disagrees with you from a different race doesnt make it automatically racism either. The school makes mistakes but has the students' interest first. Your classmates will go from awkward introductions 1L year to becoming the weeping family members you say goodbye to after your 3L year. The school doesnt cut off its relationship with you at graduation. No no, it offers FREE bar prep classes. Professors will offer you tutoring and mentoring. The school showers you with support and even feeds you during the Texas Bar Exam. The Dean of Academic Services will be your SHADOW during bar prep. Be grateful for the opportunity to study law and keep yourself humble if accepted. Do not be like so many who believe they are entitled to a free pass. If you work hard Alumni and the surrounding legal community will notice, and I promise you, doors will open for you. The tution is lower but the professional standards are not. They will challenge you mentally and emotionally, but you will graduate confident and ready to enter the world as a lawyer. One TMSL
