Timbo High School is a small public school located in Timbo, Arkansas, in central Stone County. It has stood for many years as a quality institute of education, and even now, after its recent annexation into the Mountain View School District, it is still fully functional.While its past may not serve by highly noted historical events, it is renowned in its own community for being the home of musician Jimmy Driftwood, an old folk style guitarist.AcademicsThe assumed course of study for students follows the Smart Core curriculum developed by the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE). Students complete regular (core and elective) and career focus courses and may select Advanced Placement (AP) coursework and exams that provide an opportunity to receive college credit. Music Roots introduces students to the traditional mountain folk music and instruments common in the area. The art teacher, Lane Berg, also hosts an art club. Martha Stanley, the music teacher, teaches choir and also instrumental music.
