So having a Peruvian wife means knowing good Peruvian good. Tineo does it right. I won't take up a bunch of time reviewing every menu item because we have had all of them. I will say that it is like mom makes (Peruvian Mom that is). They only reason I drop a star is because the prices are higher than you would expect from a downscale restaurant. This is a really good "hole in the wall", with the decor to match. Unclothed tables, minimal wall decor, old diner chairs, etc. They even use florescent lighting, so it's far from romantic. That's all fine and everything, but you would expect to pay a bit less since it isn't really an experience so to speak, rather a good meal. 

Don't get me wrong, I will always choose good food over a fancy looking place with garbage, but with over 10 years of fine dining food service experience, I know that a night out should have a little more to offer. Tineo's prices are more comparable to date night than a fast food Tuesday. However, if you want good Peruvian food in the East Plano/Richardson area, there is no better.

Came to this restaurant with really high expectations to taste delicious Peruvian food. The fish from the ceviche was hard, the cream along with it was good.  The choclo was actually canned corn, which was kind of disappointing 😒 The salchipapas sauces we’re delicious, but it  had chopped lettuce next to it that has still water, making my potatoes saggy. Overall it wasn’t a great experience, yet the taste of Peru is there but it needs improvement.

Pricy but good tasting food. We found coupons on Groupon, which helped. Entrées we’re about $12-$17  but I noticed sandwiches were in the $6 range. With those kinds of prices, I would have expected a nicer dinning atmosphere.
