The Friends of Toco Hill Library was formed to support and advocate for our library in Decatur, GA. and the DeKalb County Library System.

Mission

The purpose of this organization shall be to serve as a 501(c)(3) organization that assists the Toco Hill Branch of the DeKalb County (Georgia) Public Library System to develop programs to meet current community needs; to assist in promoting knowledge of and participation in library programs; to aid in providing funds to meet special library needs; and to provide a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas and make suggestions for library use and services.

A lovely branch of the DeKalb County Library System, everyone should visit if only just to peruse the collection.  While the Age of Print is of course drawing to a close, this branch is still an excellent place to browse, relax and read, there are some interesting periodical and newspaper selections.  The staff is competent and helpful, they believe in their work and in serving the community.

Great new(er) facility. When the library was re built I was not sure that I would like the result. The footprint is bigger and I wanted more forest to be preserved. However, the functionality is much better and the feeling is more open. The larger windows bring the feeling of outside in and it seems to be a very well done building. Moving forward, I hope DeKalb will switch/upgrade to solar in all these buildings. I like the way this library is more open. The previous Avis Williams had two rooms and then a smaller meeting room. Now there are several meeting rooms, one very large, and then some seating areas for study or meeting (if you're quiet). The staff is still great and there is covered parking if you like. Didn't have that before. Nice. The magazine collection seems larger too. My favorite feature is the web site. I like to reserve books and then sweep in and pick them up ready to go. Thanks Library People. Good work.

Avis G Williams as its known in the community is a great new modern library in Dekalb County. 
The second nearest is Decatur which has far older and less efficient parking as well as no charging ports (Avis G Williams has expectant mothers, hybrid, electric, and charging spots as I recall). 
All around its a fantastically designed modern library and is defiantly worth a look. They have speedy and stable wifi and sometimes some interesting lessons or else programs for young kids. Now if only Dekalb County would allocate the funding to allow it to stay open more hours a week at its current rate it's rather sad.
