Trapp Family Lodge is truly a unique property in Stowe. You have to drive up a fairly long windy well paved road to get to the hotel but the views from the top are spectacular and Hospitality provided by the staff are hands-down the best in Stowe. There is a 24 person hot tub located outside in the fitness center with a very very nice view of the mountain range. It's a great spot to unwind at the end of a long day skiing or snowboarding. Even though you are in Stowe Vermont, when you stay at the Trapp Family Lodge you will feel like you are staying in the mountains in Austria. Very authentic - not to mention it's still owned and operated by the von Trapp Family.

Trapped Lodge is gorgeous. Great views, tons of amenities (we didn't stay there, but the list is extensive) and some nice activities. We went for a cross country skiing lesson that was both affordable and got us going in about an hour. Then we hit their tails for about an hour and appreciated the stunning plateau the lodge is on. They offer snowshoes, xc skiing, and there's even a brewery for after.

Trapp Family Lodge has a great mountain atmosphere, great beer brewed on premises, good food and service. The menu has many delicious and healthy options. The decor is light and airy. Don't forget to check out the gift shop. They sell their beer by the case to take out.

My family comes here every year. It's got abutting flat trails for hiking, snowshoes and cross country, a short distance from downhill skiing, outdoor hot tub, pool, climbing wall, carriage rides, pretty decor, spa, brewhouse, events, comfortable rooms and the chocolates they leave on the pillow are great. The food is overpriced and not so great, though, sadly. That being said, the grounds are lovely and as much as id like to branch out on where we go, I do really enjoy it here. Great for families.

The famous family lodge in VT.  Didn't stay here but came for a visit.  Nice place to check out.  They have a beer hall too.  It may not be the Alps but it will do.
