The Good: Jits, parking, close to skytrain
The Bad:  Everything else sucks. Bathrooms are always dirty and unkept.  Rats or mice in the changing room grosses me out

Kajan is hands down, one of the best martial arts instructors in Canada. I am among many who can attest to this. I can honestly say that he’s truly one of the most kind-hearted and welcoming people I have ever met, inside and outside of the martial arts setting. This is only matched by his impressive ability to impart knowledge in a very precise way. I'm telling you, his passion and enthusiasm for martial arts (and teaching it) is highly contagious and there were never moments in his classes where I didn’t feel energized by his constant positive attitude. It’s a rare thing to have a teacher who can really motivate you without evening having to use words, but he really excels at this. I was really fortunate to call him my instructor many years ago and I loved every second of being in his classes. It's obvious at this point in time that MMA is generally well accepted/respected and prevalent in regards to watching it and finding proper instruction. There are very good gyms in the lower mainland but Tristar Vancouver is a gem, not merely because of the name it carries but because of Kajan Johnson. He may not have received the recognition and credit he was due years ago but now his time has arrived.  Do yourself a favor and visit Tristar Vancouver to see for yourself. You’ll understand what I’m talking about.
