I have been to all of the coffee shops around the New Albany area and this is by far the best with the perfect espresso latte. It's not watery, it's not burnt, it's not bitter. It is deep and Rich and it's also a fair price. And the coffee shop itself is warm and inviting.
Even though the shop was closing soon, the baristas still handled our order well, and was accommodating. The atmosphere was quaint and the product was delicious. I will visit again when I am back in town :
Just as amazing as Quills was! Mocha is the best, and they use high quality Monin chocolate. Baristas were very friendly too! This place has a see through garage door and gives it character.
I LOVE True North!! I can’t say enough great things. I always get a flavored iced latte and it’s always delicious. The staff is always incredibly friendly, I come almost everyday and the baristas always do such a great job and make me feel so welcomed. I loved the old location, I can’t lie, but the new location is beautiful as well and I can’t wait to sit down and relax with my coffee in there sometime. Also wanted to add that I love the vegan banana bread! I hope you all continue to keep this on the menu
When you enter this establishment, two things are immediately clear: 1. You have found caffeine and 2. You are now home. The welcoming atmosphere created by a truly competent and caring staff is clear in every aspect of True North. The coffee is not only delicious but potent and it doesn't stop there. Many people can't have caffeine or just want a cozy, delicious beverage and there are options for everyone. Discovering this coffee shop has truly become MY north because without them, I'd be lost.
Loved the alley atmosphere of the old location. Small. Quaint. Great vibes. Awesome view. As a customer of three years to Quills, then True North, I was so excited to visit their combined new location.The new place has great decor, but upbeat coffee house vibes was not the ambience. Upon arrival two baristas were making drinks with not one customer in the place...no one greeted me. Ok. Not necessary. I thought they did not see me until both turned around and looked straight at me and turned around continuing tasks. With purchase in hand Olivet vinegar and standing at check-out kiosk, I waited about 5 minutes, finally, a barista turned around and stated, "I will be with you shortly." While two baristas continued to talk to each other, waiting on shots to brew, the True North Artisan Shop cashier walked in and immediately she was greeted with, "Oh, hi! Welcome back!" As I debated on a coffee spritzer and asked about the ingredients, I was immediately told, "It is on the menu." while pointing at a paper menu. Really? A self service check out would have been more warm and friendly. Maybe a few warm and fuzzy lessons needed here- or how to fake a bad day x 2! I felt like I was a bother to two not so busy employees. Not sure who the coffee drinks were for, but I left feeling like I interrupted their afternoon. Really disappointed! I hope this was just a bad day for these employees?! Consistent personality and upbeat vibes are a must with coffee biz.
I got an iced caramel mocha, Wifey got a white chocolate mocha, and they were honestly the best coffee drinks we've ever had from anywhere. We live about 20 mins away and it is absolutely worth the drive. Claire and Reagan were working and they were awesome. Reagan you made my wife and I the best coffee drinks we've ever had!
Absolutely love the vibes in this shop! A coffee shop AND a boutique?!? The literal PERFECT combo. I had a dreamsicle cold brew which was to die for, and my sister and boyfriend had the mint matcha and rose lattes. Reagan and I believe her name was lily are such sweet baristas and they really know their coffee, and were great at helping my sister and boyfriend decide on just the right drinks. I’m looking forward to when I can return!!!
True North Coffee House never fails to exceed my expectations! Everything is local in this place, so i highly recommend supporting! The staff is always so friendly and I’m in such a good mood when i leave!
Excellent quality lattes using Monin syrups way better than Torani or others and competent and friendly staff. Great addition to downtown New Albany.
