Tupelo Honey

About

Our Southern dishes & libations are served with a creative twist & a smile, & we serve our guests nothing that we wouldn’t want on our own supper table.

Story

Tupelo Honey Cafe first opened its doors in Asheville, NC in 2000. Considered one of the pioneers of Asheville's farm-to-table movement, we’ve continued to serve fresh, scratch-made Southern fare and put new twists on old Southern dishes and cocktails.

We’ve grown up from our humble beginnings as a single restaurant in the heart of Downtown Asheville and now have several locations across the Southeast. Each location not only continues the legacy of the original restaurant with creative, eclectic, imaginative food, but continues to foster a hometown feel through local art, local charitable outreach, local brews and responsibly sourced ingredients.

Our Arlington restaurant is the 10th Tupelo Honey location, which opened in 2015.

Food and service were both excellent! Coffee was solid and although I wasn't crazy about my food, my boyfriend's apple cider pork belly hash was delicious and very filling! Can't wait to go back and try more of what Tupelo can offer!

Had brunch here over the summer. We (two people) had to wait even with reservations as it was very busy. Not much room to wait inside, so we waited just outside the front door on the seats they have out front. We were forgotten about and others that came in afterwards were seated before us. When finally seated, our waiter was very slow and inefficient in taking our order and bringing drinks, clean utensils, and the food. We were given biscuits that weren't cooked all the way through. Our fried green tomatoes with cheese grits were very bland compared to those we've enjoyed at the Virgina Beach location. Our entrees were not very good and the majority of them were taken to go and never eaten. We will not be back to this location, but can highly recommend the Virgina Beach Tupelo Honey!

Stopped in before heading in to a meeting downtown Roslyn. Ordered the fried chicken salad with blue cheese. Honestly I was immediately shocked at how small the portion was, just by the size of the bowl. That said, there was a massive amount of chicken and an awesome amount of the "good" veggies. It was not your average bowl of "iceberg", with some other greens added. This salad had the lettuce playing second fiddle to the normally supporting characters. I would order that daily, if I could. The staff left you alone, but were clearly trained to know when you needed something. I'm no "foodie" and I do not frequent the hoitie toitie joints, but I would recommend this to "proper" folks and country bumpkins like me.

Good southern food, dresses down and simple. Nice house cocktails too. The biscuits weren't great but everything else was very good.

Great food & drinks! Good atmosphere & service. The staff was most likely not ready for a party of 15 at noon on a Tuesday. They seemed confused about our seating arrangement and got several orders wrong. All of the wrong orders that they were made aware of (I got cheese on the avocado toast points after asking for them to hold the cheese. But, they were just crumbles, so I didn't bother telling them) were promptly rectified with smiles and they let us just keep them in addition to the correct orders instead of taking them back. The veggie burger was large & delicious! My wife expected more aioli (it was barely any on either of ours) but I thought the flavor of the patty itself was more than enough. It was supposed to come on a bed of arugula, but arrived with a spring salad-type mix such was even better, in my eyes! Lol! The aforementioned avocado toast points were great! I tasted one of my cousin's fried green tomatoes & it was also great! My wife had some form of a Moscow mule (I forgot their name for it. Two different ones were on the drink menu) and it was tasty. I had an "Achilles Heel Manhattan" that was delicious & strong! Really an overall great experience! I would definitely go again & recommend it to everyone!
