I have been eating the pizza from here since 1980.  It has always been one of the best pies in the Chicagoland area.  The service and the regular menu at the restaurant are always very good also.   Highly recommended.

Intimate, feels like real restaurant in Italy, inexpensive, what they do, they do well.

Love the giombotto, the gnocchi,  their tomato based sauces are rich and thick and not doctored w sugar

I come here pretty regularly and am consistently blown away by the quality of the food.  The pizza first and foremost is my favorite Chicago style deep dish.  It's not excessively dough-y and has tons of cheese and toppings.  The service is very good here and there's rarely a wait.  It has a somewhat romantic atmosphere if the occasion requires it as well.

Waitress incompetent.  Single serve hot tea brought in small metal pot, no cups on table, had to request cup even though waitress walked by several times and never noticed and never asked how we were doing.  Then brought bread basket consisting of 2 one inch thick pieces of 1.5 inch diameter bread, each 1 inch piece partially sliced into 3 micro slices you could see through.  No plates brought to eat our micro sliced bread, had to ask again for plates.  Dirty dishes never cleared from table and waitress only checked in once.  There were only two other tables of two people in the place.  Will never go again, wait staff is horrible and owners are cheap serving 2 inches of bread for 2 people.  Also asked for a refill of hot tea and they brought the small  1 cup tea kettle back half filled with my previous used tea bag, but charged me for 2 drinks.  After leaving it became clear why the place was empty in the middle of dinner time.
