"Telling the Army Story... One Soldier at a Time."®

Story

The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) is the United States Army’s preeminent museum and research complex. We are dedicated to education and preserving the legacy of the men and women who have served their nation as Soldiers. The USAHEC makes available contemporary and historical materials related to strategic leadership, the global application of Landpower, and U.S. Army Heritage to inform research, educate an international audience, and honor Soldiers, past and present.

With an archive and library housing millions of books, letters, personal papers, photographs, and artifacts, the USAHEC tells the story of the U.S. Army and its veterans through exhibits, a research facility, and the Army Heritage Trail. The Visitor and Education Center features a 7,000 square foot interactive exhibit gallery, conference facilities with state-of-the-art audio visual and catering capabilities, a museum store, and the Café Cumberland. The main exhibit, entitled, “The Soldier Experience,” tells the story of the U.S. Army through the eyes of the men and women who lived its history in war and peace.

Pretty cool experience. We didn't know this place was there until was saw the helicopters next to the highway. We made it a note on our way back through to stop. The exhibits inside are outstanding, and there are several that people can get into. It's was a cool experience!

Interesting artifacts about each war. Some of the voice displays didn't work, but all in all it was great and we enjoyed it. It would be nice to have handicap carts for people who can't walk for long periods of time.

If you enjoy a nice stroll while learning about our Army and it's history then you need to check this out. There is also a small museum and gift store.
