If I could give a minus 5 stars I would, UCONN has the WORST parking EVER!! I hate the parking services here and they ticket mercilessly. UCONN is just out to make money and rarely do they ever approve appeals. Even when parking lots are full they still continue to sell parking permits and just shrug at you when you tell them you're late for class and you have nowhere to park. This college is the worst at accommodating for commuters!!!!

I've always had a problem with parking services since my freshman year. My junior year I was tired of them and their nonsense so I called and asked if I can get a hanging sticker since the car is not mine and I won't know what car I will be driving when each day comes along. They said all I have to do was to bring the permit to them and they'll put it on, I made sure that's all I had to do because it seemed to good to be true but they assured me that was it. So I go in on the first day and they tell me that I cannot put my permit on a hanging one because I am not elibiable. So I tell them I spoke with one of their representatives and gave them my information the whole nine yards and that she said all I had to do was bring it to them so they could put it on. But they insisted I could not get a hanging tag. Honestly they tell you one thing and change their mouths two seconds later I even spoke with the manager or whoever was in charge and she did not help at all and didn't seem to care as well. Horrible service and horrible attitudes.

This is a scam, pure and simple. Your university sells you a parking permit that costs hundreds of dollars and if you arrive at peak time it is impossible to find a parking spot. They will lie straight to your face and tell you "we don't oversell parking permits". There are always spaces *somewhere*, they might just me several miles away...

Indiscriminately towing cars in a lot devoid of signage and after the 5pm cutoff for restricted parking isn’t cool. You guys kinda suck. Reckless abuse of authority, and for how much your maids make in OT, I’m sure we could solve the states budget crisis with a surface level audit.

Edit: Initially I had given one star for this review, but since then there has been an official response from Parking Services which was both professional and courteous. They will be informing LAZ Parking management of this issue. ---- I have a GA/TA pass and always park in the unpaved portion of X Lot. Starting this semester, that portion has been managed by LAZ Parking, which involves personnel monitoring of the status of the lot and guiding drivers. I have parked in the back row of unpaved X Lot since the start of the semester, but today I see that the entire back row is empty. I turned into the entrance of the lot, which has a 'Lot Full' sign at the front but still leaves room for one to drive through. When I arrived at the back row, I asked two LAZ parking representatives if the lot was considered full, even though the back row was open. One representative was more argumentative than the other, questioning whether I read the sign in the front and repeatedly asked why I came into the lot. I replied that I saw from the road that the lot had an empty back row, and considering that I have parked there all semester, that's why I decided to pull into the lot. When I let them know that I parked there last week, they told me that if I had, then I was out of compliance. However, I pointed out that the representative telling me this was the one that assisted me to park there last week - so how could that be true? The other representative told me that the rules changed. In any case, I moved my car to the back of F Lot. As I parked, I wondered how ridiculous it would be if they reversed this decision on my walk back to X Lot. Without fail, when I walked back to X Lot within 10 minutes of the conversation with the LAZ Parking representatives there were people parked on the back row of X Lot. I saw the same representative assisting people into the lot and allowing parking in the place where I was denied parking. I asked him why they are letting in people now and didn't allow me to park there before, and he replied that they called their boss and their boss allowed it. He also accused me of moving the cones at the entrance to drive into the lot, and I informed him that I did not. I understand that monitoring the lot is important, but I experienced a lack of communication, logistics, and respect from LAZ Parking, which represents Parking Services.
