I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi with a side of fried tofu and a soft egg and with no mustard greens. Overall, the taste was very pleasant. Although there was spicy chili jam in the broth, the spiciness was barely there. Next time, I’d order a side of chili oil. The noodles were thick and chewy; they had a very nice bite to them. I don’t think this ramen hit the spot for me, but in a pinch, it’d do. The location is awesome! Plenty of bike parking with bikes parked. Plenty of foot traffic.
For a more specific - 3.5 stars. It just didn’t really hold a candle to a lot of the other ramen in many of the other cities and even smaller towns I’ve been to in the country. Yeah, it’s pretty good, but you can easily beat this at home - which is hard to do for a lot of ramen joints. Even chains like Slurping Turtle beat this place out in taste and price, which is the pinnacle of just “okay” ramen. Pork buns were great, but a little too expensive. I’m going to give this spot another try, though. I think there are some other ramen options that may try my mind, and unfortunately, Denver’s ramen options are pretty small from my initial research.
The ramen here is so good! It was 7 o’clock on a Friday night so they were poppin! We snagged two seats at the bar which gives you an up close view of the kitchen and chefs working hard! The waitress recommended the fried eggplant bao buns and they were delicious but could totally skip and just have the ramen. The spicy chicken bowl, oh my! It was spicy and savory and just everything I wanted. Will definitely come back and order that again. We also ordered the chili beef bowl which is hotter than the spicy chicken bowl, fyi which tasted awesome too. Can’t wait to come back!
I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and the fried eggplant bun. I had previously ordered take-out from Uncle and it wasn’t as good. The fried eggplant bun was absolutely amazing. I had never eaten an eggplant bun and it was crispy on the outside with a strong taste of spicy mustard I think and juicy ingredients inside - it was very tasty. The ramen was very good. First I tasted the broth and it was a rich flavorful broth and I could taste the fat from the pork and other deliciousness. It was not a heavy broth though I feel the ingredients paired well. I dont think the arugula I think that’s the green salad in the picture was relevant to this plate and I would’ve preferred some bamboo shoots or something else, or get rid of the arugula entirely. Ramen and salad have no place together. The chashu pieces were thick and juicy which surprised me because they were so big. The noodles were ok, I couldn’t tell if they were homemade or not but they did stick to the broth well but not the best noodles I’ve had, but very good! This is the best ramen shop I’ve been to in Denver so far and I highly recommend this place! It is VERY good. The overall vibe is great and I really liked our server he did a great job. I’m already craving it so I will definitely be back.
Went here with some friends because we heard it was the best ramen place. I personally wasn’t thrilled with it but my friends were. We got the duck ramen and it was pretty good. We tried their spicy sauce which they charge $2 for and when they bring it out they recommend only using a small bit of it.. so why not bring a very small amount out and not charge $2 for it…? the crunchy tofu was pretty good too. overall the place was very overpriced and their main seating are community tables. We got lucky and didn’t have to sit at a community table. It’s a small place so they do what they can. It was so busy on a Thursday night and they don’t take reservations and won’t seat you until your whole party is there.
The server Sunny was our favorite part! She was so friendly and fun. We both got the Veggie Khoa Soi and it was bomb. I got an extra side of noodles $2 extra and it turned the bowl into 2 large meals. The curry was so creamy and delish. Literally my new fav Ramen spot. A bowl is around $18. The bill includes gratuity, so keep that in mind.
Very solid ramen at Uncle. The Khao Soi ramen was an absolute revelation. Larb lettuce wrap app was tasty as well. Highlands location had a slightly different menu than the Wash Park location which is cool. Will definitely be back.Dine in: Yes
This place is phenomenal! The food was absolutely delicious! Caitlin was an amazing waitress! She was cute, warm and friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was hopping and the place was busy. So obviously the secret is out. The appetizers were delicious. Highly recommend the fried eggplant bun and the pork belly buns. The shrimp and the beef appetizers were fantastic. The Chashu Ramen was warm and hearty. Perfect for a cold winters evening. I'll be back!
Just wow! Finally came to Uncle after hearing about it from friends - did not disappoint! We got the shrimp and spicy chicken ramen. Both were delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try the rice bowls
Wanted to check this place out because it’s supposed to be one of the best. We ordered the soft shell crab bao which was amazing. Then we got the duck ramen. It was ok. For some reason it came with arugula and a poached egg. Not very authentic. The place is nice and some items are good but the ramen left much to be desired.
