These people sit in a box for 8+ hours a day with nothing to do but listen to the complaints of ill prepared people complain about the government and blame them for any misfortunes. If you show them a little respect and kindness, they will do the same for you. If you read the instructions on what you need to bring, I can assure you that it will take less than 5 minutes for you to get what you need and go. (And on the note of long wait times, I went in on a Saturday at two in the afternoon and the building was empty, the staff were knowledgeable on any questions they encounter.)

Horrible service. One guy taking on two dozen passport services. Waited for two hours to get passport. Why is there not more people working? What a joke.

Want a passport? Buckle up for hours of fun waiting, even if you get there before opening. The least efficiently run office I've ever seen. It took 5 hours to get through 24 people/families. Listen to all the comments. No exaggeration. It would have been a faster process for us to drive to the nearest passport office in Nebraska. They actually closed the doors at 1:30 pm because they estimated it would take the rest of the day for everyone currently with a number.

Beware of this passport office. I don't believe in purgatory, but if I did, this would be analogous. Plan on spending the day here. I would recommend a picnic blanket and lunch basket. As you arrive you will be greeted by an endless line of people waiting to see the gate keeper postal service worker. This gentleman reviews your documents and eventually gives you a number so you can wait again for the desk personnel who complete your application. The gatekeeper also does the job of reminding you that it could be worse slyly saying things such as "you thought this wait was bad, you should have seen last Saturday." I'm reminded of the line in The Princess Bride where the Princess says "you mock my pain." and Wesley - the gatekeeper here - says "Life is pain your highness." You would think that life is improving as you see three desk workers ready to take applications, but wait, its 15 minutes into the work day, time for breaks.
