Worst USPS location in the state of New Mexico and maybe the Southwest! A house in the area we are renting from a friend who is doing travel nursing checked with this post office if we could have our mail sent there to that box. He was told it would be ok to do that by a member of their counter staff. We do the normal change of address and our forwarded mail and packages starts showing up in the box  as normal. About a week later the mail stopped showing up in the box. When asked for an explanation it was said that the box owner moved and the P.O. box was shut down and all of our mail and packages got returned to the sender. When we asked if they could go and check to see if maybe the packages were still there we got a very dismissive response saying no it’s already been returned without even going to look. When we asked if we could take over the box we got a very bureaucratic response with several hoops to jump through that would take days to get done. We ended up getting a private mailbox at the Postal Annex on Sudderth with no fuss and hassle in about 10 minutes.

Nice, new-looking*, & clean.

* From Los Angeles & this post office has the same Decor as new post offices in California.
